[Requiem cosplay] The Red and Black Color Palette in Neverness to Everness, Celebrating Birthday with a Tomato - Image 2

Today is Requiem's birthday, and it just happened to coincide with a comic convention slot, so I decided to use this look from Neverness to Everness to celebrate. There are truly so many details in this costume. The black-and-white two-toned wig, paired with that iconic cross and heart hair accessory, has an extremely high recognition factor at the convention. The fluffiness of the red coat is highly accurate. To support this silhouette, I added quite a bit of padding inside, but walking around is still quite refreshing. The most special part is the black corset and metal fasteners; this design makes the entire lower body silhouette look very crisp and clean, carrying a bit of techwear toughness.

For props this time, I prepared two items: a tomato and a cupcake. The tomato is a very cute element of Requiem's character. Holding it in my hand and taking a couple of photos from different angles felt quite aligned with her quirky and mischievous temperament. The cupcake echoes the birthday theme; picking it up casually in front of the booth, paired with the red eye makeup, adds a bit of vivid daily-life flavor to the character. The lighting during the shoot was excellent. The photographer captured many moments of eye-contact focus, and the details of the red pupils were preserved nicely for these convention photos.

Honestly, a lot of thought went into this cosplay outfit from the initial pattern-making to the final product, especially the tailoring of the sleeves and neckline. To fit the expressive yet slightly elegant feel of the original artwork, it was repeatedly adjusted multiple times. After all, Requiem's design language in Neverness to Everness is very unique. The color-blocking of black, white, and red combined with mechanical accessories can easily look bulky if the tailoring isn't on point. Taking photos with the standee in front of the booth today, with the background image being an in-game scene, brought a full sense of immersion to this Anime cosplay.

Being able to dress up as a beloved character on my birthday and stand in front of the lens to share this joy with everyone makes me incredibly happy in itself. The convention atmosphere is always bustling. Walking around in this outfit, I was even recognized as Requiem by several passersby and received quite a few compliments, which counts as a validation of my preparation work. After finishing this set of photos, I feel this trip was extremely fulfilling for my Roleplay endeavor. Lastly, thanks to the photographer's patient guidance for shooting this cute birthday memorial so clearly.
