When slipping into this Ciyuan Yi Furina blue dress, my foremost impression was its sheer intricacy of detail. The ruffled collar across the chest took time to secure so it wouldn't warp while walking, and the bodice corset structure required extensive adjustment to hug the body snugly. Although the metallic ornaments on the hat added some weight, they truly serve as the soul of the entire look; finding the most elegant tilt angle was essential to capture the character's essence. During the shoot, to showcase the unique drape of this formal gown, special care was needed in engaging shoulder and arm tension—particularly when resting a hand on the hat brim. The glove material was more form-fitting than expected, maintaining sleek hand lines beautifully. The silver-white wig reflected strongly under the studio lighting, and shifts in color temperature drastically affected skin tone and hair color, so metering was handled with great care to prevent the hat and hair from blowing out.
For this Furina cosplay shoot, we primarily utilized side-overhead lighting combined with reflectors for fill light, beautifully highlighting the texture of the gold embroidery on the costume and the rich layering of the deep blue fabric. Rather than chasing rigidly staged poses, I cared much more about the overall demeanor, striving to maintain a light, effortless composure even while wearing such heavy, structured attire. During post-processing, I focused mainly on shadow details, ensuring the navy-blue sections didn't turn muddy while preserving the fabric's authentic weave.
All in all, this was a truly special experience that deepened my understanding of Genshin Impact's Fontaine artistic design, especially the construction logic behind splicing different textures across this garment. Every time I complete a Water Goddess shoot like this, I find myself marveling at the craftsmanship poured into the props and tailoring. The process of sorting through the photos brought immense fulfillment. From makeup and hair styling to the final visual presentation, countless details were deliberated repeatedly. Even though the shoot has wrapped, looking back at the focused state of shooting against a pure black backdrop still feels like a fantastic creative journey. I hope this photo set delivers the aesthetic beauty this character deserves, and I look forward to cosplaying more Genshin Impact characters in the future to experience the charm of different costume designs.
