[Furina cosplay] Genshin Impact: Convention Chronicle of the Hydro Archon

At this Guangzhou COC convention, I cosplayed Furina from Genshin Impact. Preparing for this styling definitely took substantial thought beforehand. Starting with the wig: I deliberately chose white locks with a soft light-blue gradient, styling the sideburns and bangs with airy volume during trimming to better align with the character's temperament while flattering facial contours. The costume features an immense array of intricate details—subtle jacquard patterns weave across the blue coat, while metallic embellishments and sapphires adorn the chest and cuffs. During wear, every single piece had to be anchored securely with safety pins on the interior to prevent anything from coming loose while walking around the convention floor.

The convention hall was bustling with crowds on that day, and traversing the venue in this long-sleeved tailored coat certainly consumed plenty of stamina. However, roaming the floor led to being recognized by so many fellow fans who came over to exchange convention snaps and selfies; I did my best to accommodate their requests by adjusting my poses and angles. Whenever meeting friends cosplaying other characters from the same title, we naturally helped each other tidy up garments and wigs.

Collaborating with photographer @丹丹丹婷 was an absolute breeze. We scouted several outdoor spots around the venue with clear, luminous lighting. To showcase the layered architecture and overall proportions of the ensemble, we choreographed various body movements—resting one hand lightly against the hat, placing both hands on hips, or sweeping both arms outward to lend the coat's structured tailoring a more dimensional silhouette. The leg garter straps and golden tassel details were also key visual highlights framed in full-body compositions. Throughout the shoot, I consciously engaged my core and kept my shoulders pulled back; because this costume boasts crisp, structured lines, slouching even slightly would severely compromise the overall aesthetic.

Regarding the makeup, bright blue contact lenses were the undeniable visual anchor of the face. I poured meticulous attention into the eye makeup gradients, ensuring the eyeshadow tones echoed the garment's palette while deepening the lash line so my eyes appeared more profound and expressive on camera. Subtle enhancements beneath the eyes were also crafted so that whenever I smiled, my facial expressions felt more vivid and dynamic. This character possesses remarkably layered personality traits—she harbors an unapologetically flamboyant, confident side, alongside an emotional narrative uniquely her own. In managing my expressions, I constantly sought that sweet spot blending unwavering confidence with a touch of playful charm.

The convention experience was truly wonderful, allowing me to immerse myself in everyone's passionate love for ACG culture. Although navigating a full day of roaming and shooting was exhausting, browsing through these photographs instantly brings back the buzzing warmth of the venue. I am quite pleased with the overall fidelity of this look, and I am deeply grateful to the photographer for freezing these fleeting moments into lasting frames.
