This Genshin Impact: Song of the Welkin Moon Lauma cosplay took about a month from preparation to completion. To fit the serene blue tone setting, we finally selected this dim-lit cave with flowing water and natural rocks for shooting.

In terms of clothing, the tailoring of this blue-themed battle outfit is quite special. To restore the character's texture, a glossy material was chosen for the fabric, and both edges and straps received detailed binding. The metal collar with a green gemstone on the chest is the visual center of the entire styling; the prop maker repeatedly adjusted the size and weight several times to ensure it was secure when worn without affecting shoulder and neck rotation. The glowing antlers on the head are a highlight this time; the translucent material requires relying on built-in cold light sources in the dark environment, and every angle adjustment had to balance line concealment and the glowing effect. The wig selected deep blue long wavy hair, with thick bangs trimmed to partially block vision and increase the character's sense of mystery. Because I appeared barefoot this time, besides detailed makeup on the legs, a lot of time was spent wrapping those blue crisscross straps to ensure they wouldn't loosen when the lens stretched or when lifting the legs.

The shooting environment was actually harder than imagined. The temperature in the cave was very low, and the rock surface was not only hard but exceptionally slippery due to the splashing water around. To capture that instant when water splashes, I sat on that rock for a long time, and keeping the body's center of gravity stable heavily tested core strength. The posture in Figure 2 with the body leaning forward and reaching out required constantly adjusting the muscle lines of the arms and the direction of the gaze; the photographer used low-angle lighting with cold-warm contrast to strengthen the atmosphere of the underwater and gloomy cave. The core of the serene blue tone lies in the restraint of light and shadow—avoiding large areas of overexposure, retaining details in dark areas, while letting the blue light naturally outline the character's contour.

When interpreting the character Lauma, I didn't adopt overly exaggerated expressions, but instead tried to keep emotions inward-focused, placing the emphasis on the coldness of the gaze and body language. Whether lowering the eyes or looking straight into the camera, I hoped to convey a tranquility that doesn't belong to the bustling world, along with a bit of wildness and detachment unique to fantasy creatures. The identity setting of the moon shadow saintess gave me a lot of inspiration; amidst the intertwining environment of caves and moonlight, she seems to be guarding some ancient secret.

The post-processing color grading of the entire set of photos also completely revolved around the serene blue tone, darkening the environmental highlights, lowering the color temperature, and making the overall visual focus fall on the character and the glowing props. Thanks to the photography and logistics partners for their dedication in the damp and cold environment, as everyone struggled through the mud to present these few satisfying images. From clothing pattern-making, prop polishing to scene construction, every cosplay output is a complete creative closed loop; although the process is hard, the moment I saw the final photos, everything was extremely worth it.
