[Faruzan Cosplay] The Contrast Between Cyber Tech and a Retro Study

This set features Faruzan senior's cosplay client photos. The shooting process was actually more challenging than expected, mainly because the character's design elements are so rich. It required balancing numerous metal accessories and intricate color-block skirt structures while finding the right resonance with the character's vibe across different shooting environments.

Let's talk about the styling first. To restore this character, I wore an extremely long pale ice-blue wig, carefully trimming the bangs and twin tails on both sides. I also used hidden fasteners under the wig cap to ensure it wouldn't expose the mesh even during large movements. The hair cross clips and small triangular metal ornaments on the sides are the soul of the look—though small, they catch the light beautifully to outline the character's silhouette. The blue-and-white striped collar at the neck with a gold cross pendant, along with the heavy, sharp-angled gold gear armlets on the wrists, really tested the craftsmanship of costume and prop making.

The upper dress features an off-the-shoulder white base with puff sleeves and a loose cut that creates a feeling of lightness. The most complex parts are the skirt and waist structures: the white fabric is printed with upward-pointing blue arrows, while the side of the skirt is patched with multiple rectangular blocks in alternating blue and green. These blocks have reflective surfaces that shimmer brilliantly under neon lights. Although packed with diverse elements, the outfit never feels bulky; instead, it blends an academic air with a touch of futuristic Cyberpunk style aesthetic.

Mentioning the concept of Cyber Faruzan, during this shoot I focused heavily on switching between two contrasting scenes. One part embraces Cyberpunk style, set against a shimmering silver sequin backdrop with holographic diamond crystals and floating glowing bubble patterns—cold-toned lighting creating a world belonging to Teyvat algorithms. The other part takes place in a retro study, where dark wooden window frames, red-brown leather sofas, and scattered hardcover ancient books instantly warm up the frame. In this study vibe, I posed reading books or balancing a heavy magic book on my head, perfectly fitting her senior status with a sense of calm erudition.

The biggest challenge during the shoot was switching facial expressions and moods. Expressions under neon lights needed a hint of mystery and laziness, while the retro study style called for a softer, more reserved demeanor. Capturing this subtle contrast required showing both the character's composure and a touch of youthful playfulness. In particular, holding up the glowing crystal while keeping my arm floating in the air got quite tiring, but to showcase the professional demeanor of mastering a magic circle, the arm lines had to stay tight and poised.

The original intention of creating this set of client photos was to let everyone feel the different facets of her charm—both her elder-like erudition and her stubborn, adorable side. Enhanced by various lighting FX and props, the final texture of these photos turned out quite ideal. Bringing this set of Faruzan cosplay photos acts as a personal milestone summary for my Casual cosplay photoshoot schedule, doing my best to recreate that deeply knowledgeable yet vibrant image in my heart.
