[Furina cosplay] The blue-themed girl at the Genshin Impact Midsummer Party Pop-up

Today I'm cosplaying Furina from Genshin Impact at the Midsummer Party Pop-up live site. I waited quite a long time for this costume since it was custom-made, and after getting my hands on it, I couldn't wait to try it on; the cut is indeed very proper. The fabric has resilience, especially the gold trim on the jacket and the sapphire decoration on the chest, which have a great texture under the lighting. The hat is dark blue with gold ornaments, and after putting it on, my whole aura felt different; I even deliberately used a few hairpins to secure it.

The wig uses a white-to-blue gradient, and it took quite a bit of effort to find a wig stylist to trim and style it. Because I needed to walk around the exhibition hall, I intentionally sprayed a lot of styling spray before going out to prevent the wind or movement from messing up the bangs. The makeup focused heavily on the eye makeup; blue contact lenses paired with eyeliner tried to restore that clear yet deep feeling. To look vibrant, the blush and lipstick were chosen in slightly girlish shades.

That long staff prop has some real weight to it, and the metal pole texture feels very authentic; holding it in hand for photos requires core engagement, otherwise, it's easy to lose balance. While shooting over by the display stage, the photographer suggested that I sit on the pool steps with my legs naturally stretched out, which not only displays the full skirt hem but also makes the combination of white thigh-highs and platform shoes look better in proportion. To strike a natural yet un-stiff pose, I adjusted the placement of my hands—one hand gently pulling the cape, the other holding the staff—with my head slightly turned towards the lens, carrying a bit of the character's haughtiness in my gaze.

Later when taking selfies with my own phone, I specifically pulled out that matching mini doll prop. Holding it up for comparison with my own styling made the frame instantly much more lively. Actually, shooting on the display stage really tests one's composure; people were coming and going all around, and there were many onlookers taking pictures, so I had to instantly enter the character state. The background surfboards and lifebuoys fit this pool theme exceptionally well, and the blue-and-white tones echoed the clothing perfectly, allowing clean pictures to be captured by just slightly utilizing the venue lighting.

The convention site was extremely lively, and though the air conditioning was on, I still worked up quite a bit of sweat walking around in this outfit. During a break, I chatted with a few fellow fans, and everyone praised the set design this time. This styling has many details, such as the decorations on the cuffs and the straps at the waist; I repeatedly checked their positions while getting dressed to ensure there would be no skewing that could affect the photo results.

Today's overall shooting experience was fantastic, and the venue's lighting and set design helped a huge amount. Although striking poses made my legs go numb, seeing the final results in the camera made me feel that more than half a day of hard work was totally worth it. After going back, I still need to properly tidy up the wig and clothes, especially the staff—it needs to be carefully wiped clean and stored away since I'll be relying on it for the next location shoot.
