[Sangonomiya Kokomi cosplay] Genshin Impact Doujin Maid Outfit Showcase

Standing in front of the piano in this Genshin Impact Sangonomiya Kokomi cosplay featuring a Doujin maid outfit, I was truly immersed throughout this photoshoot. Preparation took quite a while, as the costume and props were repeatedly confirmed and adjusted step by step with @米游妙妙屋COSPLAY. Ultimately, combined with a beautifully naturally lit indoor setting, we brought the Hydro atmosphere of the Genshin Impact world into real-life photos.

Speaking of the costume itself, this Doujin maid outfit doesn't completely copy the original in-game attire, but retains the character's signature pale purple and light blue color palette while infusing rich maid dress and sweet lolita elements. On the dark blue bow across the chest, a sparkling rhinestone was intentionally set as an accent, creating great visual layering with the white ruffled apron below. The center of the apron is embroidered with the character's exclusive golden emblem, showing crisp texture under the light. The sleeves are a major highlight of this dress: the upper part uses semi-transparent dark blue chiffon material, overlaid with wide light-purple frills, while the cuffs are finely embellished with pearls and golden knot dangles, achieving a look that feels gorgeous without being heavy. The lower skirt is multi-layered; beyond the main purple-blue skirt body, each layer edge features ruffles and scalloped piping, showing lightness with every movement. Paired with pure white tights and white round-toe leather shoes adorned with blue bows, the overall style looks both sweet and elegant.

Head styling was another area that required immense effort. The wig's coloring is something I adore: softly transitioning from gentle peach pink at the crown into light blue and pale purple along the sides and tips—a color contrast that looks dewy and tender. The crown-like updo on top seems casual, but actually required meticulous securing, complemented on both sides by abundant semi-transparent white gauze and lightweight blue-purple veil fabric to enhance the overall flowing airy feel, as if blown by a gentle breeze. Delicately draped pearl chains hung across the forehead over the bangs, cleverly pairing with the black choker featuring a purple gem around the neck. The 2D kigurumi mask makeup played a pivotal role in this shoot: purple pupils, refined eyeliner, and a softly upturned smile perfectly matched the tenderness and devotion inherent in the "exclusive maid" setting. To portray this temperament, we specifically captured subtle facial gestures during Cosplay photography, such as holding hands together before the chest or resting an index finger lightly near the cheek—details that make viewers feel the character's genuine emotion.

Set decoration for the shoot also took a lot of care. Beside a quiet, bright white piano sat a huge blue-and-white flower bouquet and a brown teddy bear plushie. The piano keys were halfway pressed with sheet music casually laid open, creating a cozy slice-of-life feel of waiting for someone during a practice break. Holding that teddy bear or clutching the white-and-yellow fresh flower bouquet naturally brought the visual focus onto the character, while soft natural light streamed through white curtains in the background, softening the outfit's layered chiffon effects and skin textures without harsh shadows.

Before the camera lens, I tried adjusting various props and poses—such as leaning slightly while standing beside the piano with hands touching the keys, or resting my chin on one hand while looking at the camera—all hoping to convey Sangonomiya Kokomi's qualities as Genshin Impact's tactful, tender, and caring strategist, here transformed into a more intimate home companionship. Although this fan creation didn't recreate her original battle outfit completely, through the modified maid dress, Hydro-themed colors, and the distinctive 2D facial proportions of this 2D kigurumi mask, the final visual impact fully met expectations.
