[Remielle cosplay] Dual invitation in Zenless Zone Zero, dance a piece together

This Twin styling themed Remielle took a lot of effort from makeup testing to final shoot execution, especially in terms of styling and lighting arrangement. When I first got the wig, I felt the character's hairstyle had wonderful layering; the pink short hair paired with star element hair accessories can support different atmospheres whether in the white or black look. So for the actual shoot, we decided to adopt two lighting and shading schemes to present different sides of her personality.

Let's talk about the first white look. When selecting main materials like white tulle and satin, I wanted a more ethereal, sacred visual presentation. The white wings required countless feathers arranged layer by layer; although the costume was quite heavy during shooting, I adjusted my standing posture many times to display the light, floating feel of the feathers. The sleeves feature a detached design, paired with the silver star decoration on the chest and layered straps, giving off an extremely noble, cold elegance. My expression deliberately held back smiles with a blank gaze, which, paired with purple-toned soft light, the white cutout arch behind me, and faux flowers arranged around, perfectly fit that gorgeous yet distant atmosphere.

The other black look was the exact opposite extreme. I locked my eyes on pairing black leather with semi-transparent mesh to express Remielle's rebellious and sly state. The black-and-red bow hair accessory echoes some delicate color nuances in her character setting, and the black wings have denser feathering that conveys a sense of pressure. In terms of costume design, this black bustier features metal buckles and a low neckline cut, paired with a white collar tie to form a strong black-and-white contrast; plus black leg straps, it accentuates character lines and mystery from a compositional perspective. Shooting this set, my movements were no longer restrained like the white look; instead, I adopted a seated posture resting my chin on my hand with index finger lightly touching my lips, with a sharper, confident gaze looking straight into the lens to create a direct interactive feel with the viewer.

I actually really like the composition of the black look photo. The character sits directly in the center of the frame, with the background merging into dark drapes, carrying a slight theatrical curtain-call feel. Every feather shadow is clearly visible under the lights. Of course, whether it's the softness of the white tulle dress or the stiffness of the black leather jacket, these two contrasting textures need to showcase their original material attributes in front of the camera, which heavily tests the photographer's mastery over light and shadow. I frequently communicated angles with the photographer, such as when to use backlighting to highlight feather outlines, or when to use flat lighting to soften facial shadows for cleaner makeup. Although it's the same character, I fine-tuned makeup details: the white version makeup leaned cool and translucent, while the black version deepened eyeshadow and lip color saturation, making the overall look more energetic and assertive.

Putting these two sets of photos together is like completing two monologues for one character. In the process of doing cosplay, I find the hardest yet most interesting part is conveying character emotions within the plot or atmosphere through movements and gazes. This Twin styling attempt blended Remielle's cold elegance and dark aura together. Although changing outfits, posing, and adjusting wings and accessories on shoot day took a long time and exhausted everyone, seeing the final images gave a very solid sense of achievement from visually bringing the character to life. As a record for Zenless Zone Zero 2nd Anniversary, I feel this set of photos is highly meaningful.
