For this Kuybyshev cosplay at the Azur Lane Only event, I actually did quite a lot of homework before shooting. This outfit has a distinct Northern Parliament style in its design—an ice-blue short wig paired with a naval cap featuring a black brim and silver emblem instantly conveys that crisp, cool commander aura.
In selecting the costume fabrics, I deliberately chose highly glossy black patent leather spliced with the white uniform. Under studio lights, the specular reflections from this material accentuate the contours of the body with strong dimensionality, particularly with the black harness straps across the chest and waist creating rich visual layering. The white plush faux-fur cape draped outside is super thick; despite the indoor air conditioning being set quite cold on shoot day, throwing this cape on instantly evoked that effortless, cozy poise.
In this set of Cosplay photo sharing, my favorite shots are these solo portraits. Because Kuybyshev is affectionately called "Sensei" (Teacher) among players in the original lore, I opted for an elegant seated pose on a wooden stool rather than a hardcore combat stance. Crossing my feet with one in front of the other—paired with these black over-the-knee stockings featuring thigh ring straps and ultra-high platform glossy Black stockings and high heels—not only beautifully elongated my visual leg proportions, but also played right into the community's humorous meme that "Sensei's legs are longer than my lifespan." This slightly casual yet confident seated posture felt true to her elegant, poised, and subtly playful presence within the Northern Parliament fleet.
For detail management, the makeup leaned toward a translucent, cool-toned palette. The light blue wig was trimmed with airy layers to avoid looking stiff. The eye makeup used reddish undertones, giving the gaze greater focus and penetration. Additionally, I carefully adjusted the red identification tag on the side of the thigh to its best display angle. The photographer was truly ingenious in using low-angle upward framing, which both accentuated the shoes' texture and made the costume's entire silhouette appear taller and more commanding.
Whenever doing outfits combining high-gloss patent leather with white plush elements, the biggest worry is uncontrolled glare or smudges, but seeing the results of this Cosplay photo sharing, every bit of prep was worthwhile. Shooting in front of the arranged set on convention day, surrounding floral displays and vintage furniture established a rich indoor ambiance, while the blue shawl and white faux-snow props on the floor echoed the snowy, icy theme of Northern Parliament. Overall, faithfully capturing Kuybyshev-sensei's elegance, composure, and visually striking long-legged aura through the lens made this an immensely gratifying photography experience.
