[Tanikaze Amane cosplay] Angel Beats! Pink-Themed Underclassman

Preparing this Tanikaze Amane cosplay took about half a month from the moment I received the costume to the actual shoot date. To closely match the aesthetic of the original Angel Beats! work, I dedicated significant effort to the wig styling and makeup. For the wig, I selected a soft matte pale pink; during cutting, I paid close attention to the length of the bangs and the curvature of the side locks. Because Amane's hairstyle is a sharply layered short cut, staying too flat against the scalp makes it appear lifeless, while too much volume loses that crisp anime silhouette—so thinning and heat-setting demanded substantial patience.

Regarding makeup, the emerald-green contact lenses were the absolute focal point. To ensure the eye color looked sufficiently luminous on camera, I tested several styles with varying pigmentation levels before settling on this pair, which performed faithfully under both indoor ambient lights and studio strobes. For eye makeup, I laid down a mauve-pink eyeshadow base layered with subtle shimmer, paired with expansive pink blush dusted beneath the eyes and across the cheeks to cultivate a lively, cheekily confident glow. A soft pink lip gloss with blurred edges completed the look, with the overall face emphasizing rounded eye contours and translucent skin clarity.

The garment details are also worth noting. The crisp white short-sleeve button-up features deep purplish-red piping along the collar, while the bright yellow necktie serves as the visual anchor of the entire ensemble. I adjusted the knot's tightness and drape multiple times to capture that casual, effortless proportion true to her persona. Pairing dark suspenders and tailored shorts with the pink short hair created sharp, defined layering. For shooting, I chose a clean solid indoor backdrop, utilizing soft key lights and side fill to sculpt facial contours while preventing harsh shadow lines along the wig's edges.

In terms of expressions and poses, because Amane possesses a distinct, quirky personality, I steered clear of generic sweet smiles. Instead, I experimented with a slight head tilt and a direct gaze into the lens, projecting a teasing, subtly tsundere interactive vibe. Resting my left hand naturally over my knee while adjusting the selfie angle with my right hand ensured the camera clearly captured the tie and shirt craftsmanship. Post-processing focused mainly on color balancing skin tones and refining wig luster, intentionally preserving natural cosmetic texture without excessive airbrushing to showcase the best cosplay fidelity. Though demanding, seeing the final selects made every minute worthwhile; there is truly nothing like the joy of breathing life into a beloved character through one's own hands and vision.
