Today the convention has ended; taking advantage of the fact that my makeup hasn't completely melted yet, I quickly sorted out the first wave of convention photos saved on my phone. This time, I finally completed my long-awaited Cheongsam Jeanne d'Arc Alter plan. From custom-making the costume to styling and matching, I closely monitored every single detail myself. Although I was so tired that the soles of my feet hurt after finishing, looking at myself in the lens, that sense of satisfaction is really hard to describe.

Let's talk about the restoration accuracy of this cheongsam first. The black base color paired with red piping gives a very strong overall visual impact. The essence of it is actually the cutout and teardrop-shaped design on the chest, to which I intentionally added heavy metal chains to connect them. This not only enhanced the industrial feel and sense of danger, but when walking, the collision between the chains and the fabric also has a great texture. To prevent the skirt body from looking soft and collapsed, the fabric was chosen with a certain thickness and micro-elasticity, coupled with a high-low skirt hem (shorter in the front and longer in the back), which can both modify the body shape and ensure that taking big steps won't be restricted when walking around the convention.

Next are the matching details. The black lace-trim long stockings and high heels are truly the soul of this styling. Although running rampant at the anime convention for a day is an extreme test of physical stamina, I still insisted on wearing high heels because only this way can it support the overall aura. For safety, I put soft pads in the shoes in advance. The headwear and eyepieces are made of glossy materials, and the sharp corners and tassels at the edges are very noticeable under the lighting. Trimming and styling the wig took a lot of effort, and the stray hair was specially crafted to feel messy yet sharp.

The makeup was also heavily done. To fit the character's cold yet slightly frantic setting, a large area of dark red shading was used for the eye makeup, paired with golden-yellow contact lenses to make the gaze look more oppressive. Matte dark red was chosen for the lipstick, intentionally applied slightly outside the boundaries to add a bit of wild atmosphere. My partner standing next to me also wore a black-themed battle outfit, and the moment the two of us crossed two long black great swords in the center of the venue, we instantly became the focal point of several photographers' lenses.

The convention venue is very large, with a high steel frame structure at the top. Light shines down from the high windows, and natural light hitting the dark-toned clothes creates a particularly layered feel. The scene was actually quite noisy; to avoid the crowd and take photos with a clean background, we ran to several corners cooperating with the photographer. When walking through the venue, because I was holding a great sword and a flag, I was often stopped by passersby or photographers asking for photos together. Although my body was very tired, being able to communicate with everyone about prop making and makeup/styling experience was truly wonderful.

Whether shooting outdoor locations or wandering the convention, every time it is actually a struggle against your own physical limits. Especially for a setting like this, fully armed with a huge pile of accessories—changing clothes, touching up makeup, organizing the wig, holding props—every link tests your mentality. But the moment you stand still in front of the booth, looking at everyone's appreciative gazes, you feel that all the hardship is totally worth it. This feeling of being immersed in another character's identity is precisely the greatest charm of cosplay. I still need to sort out the photos taken in the afternoon session later; I will record up to here for today, and I'm going to remove my makeup and put on a sheet mask now.
