[Golden Lion Cosplay] Elegant Azur Lane Fitting, See You at Firefly ACG Expo - Image 1

The fitting process for this Golden Lion Cosplay look from Azur Lane took quite a bit more time than expected, with the focus entirely on layering the accessories and textures. After receiving the package a few days ago, I immediately hung it up and ironed it. Today, taking advantage of the great lighting, I tried putting on this entire white outfit for the first time.

The wig selected is a flaxen light golden yellow. This color can easily look cheap if not handled well, but fortunately, the texture of the hair strands is quite good, and the luster is just right when it drapes down naturally. The elf ear props are custom-made; when wearing them, you need to pull out some hair to cover the joints so they look like they grew naturally. During the initial fitting phase, the parts that needed the most fine-tuning were the choker and the metal chains on the chest. They tend to shift with my body movements, so I had to adjust their positions several times using snap buttons to ensure that the crossing lines looked symmetrical when looking in the mirror.

The outer layer of semi-transparent white tulle is exceptionally light. Though the lace trim on the cuffs and hem is exquisite, it also means extra care is needed when putting it on and taking it off to prevent snagging. The combination of the short skirt and blouse, along with the chain leg ring on the thigh, adds a light and flowing visual sense to the entire look. This form-fitting accessory design heavily tests one's posture, but it also makes the overall silhouette look more three-dimensional without any bulkiness.

I am used to taking several photos with my phone under different lighting angles after the makeup and styling are done to determine the final effect. This time, the background chosen was the light-colored curtains at home, mainly to emphasize the white tone of the clothing. Actually, the details are where problems most easily occur during a fitting, such as whether the lace edge on the chest is exposed or if the chain around the waist fits properly. But overall, the first round of trying on the outfit basically met expectations.

The next focus is making the final preparations for the Firefly ACG Expo. I have always believed that doing cosplay is not as simple as just putting on clothes; more importantly, it is about finding the character's personality tension. As a character in Azur Lane, Golden Lion possesses her own elegance and sense of power, and I hope to convey this trait at the convention venue through body movements and expressions. Therefore, over the next few days, I will flip through the game's settings again to ponder her different poses in both combat and daily states.

Additionally, considering the crowd flow and indoor lighting at the comic convention venue, a regular telephoto lens might not be enough. I specifically brought a fill light and a wide-angle lens this time so that I can quickly take good photos even in crowded places. I hope to meet fellow fans who love Azur Lane at the expo so we can exchange thoughts on makeup and styling.

There was also a little episode during the try-on haul session: after taking the photos, I accidentally dropped the small decoration on the leg ring, but fortunately, I found it in time. By the way, a quick reminder for everyone: it's best to reinforce these delicate little accessories with a needle and thread before officially attending the convention, so they don't get lost while you're running all over the venue. To keep the costume clean, I also prepared a small stain remover pen just in case.

Switching the daily clothes in my wardrobe for this light elf outfit felt like a brief detachment from reality. This Cosplay outfit makes a great balance between comfort and accuracy. Although tulle and lace might not be very convenient for daily wear, in the context of cosplay, these materials provide exactly the lightness the character needs. Next up is looking forward to the official appearance at the Firefly ACG Expo, and I'm ready to capture some of my favorite venue photos.
