When the alarm went off, the sky was still pitch dark. Getting up early for an anime convention is pure torture; I wrestled with myself for half an hour before finally crawling out of bed to begin my makeup. Today's look was from Love Live! Aqours, and despite being sleep-deprived, I had to bring all my energy in front of the camera. After putting on the orange wig, I spent half an hour styling the bangs, readjusting that ahoge on top several times before getting it to stand up properly. The yellow and white blossoms paired with a green ribbon on the left side served as the defining highlight of the overall styling. To complement the outfit, I specifically chose purplish-red contact lenses, layering dense false eyelashes and deepened eyeshadow so the eyes wouldn't wash out under harsh event lighting. The base foundation was applied generously alongside setting spray to ward off midday shine and makeup breakdown. Putting on the costume made me realize that the Blue and white Western-style dress was far more intricate than expected: tiers of ruffles cascaded across the collar, and the oversized yellow bow at the chest—crafted from metallic-sheen satin—demanded precise symmetry that required an extra pair of hands to adjust. Inside the venue, I took several shots holding a matching character plushie. To keep my hair and dress pristine, all movements had to remain minimal and controlled. Leaning in close to snap two-shots with my friend, her deep blue wig and crisp white lace collar looked remarkably neat and sharp. Looking into the lens together momentarily washed away the morning exhaustion. By the afternoon, my brain was completely zoning out, and the selfie snapped in the car was a brutally honest reflection of that fatigue; yet the natural light coming through the car window against the red seats created a wonderfully candid, slice-of-life atmosphere. Though waking up at dawn for every convention feels like a trial by fire, seeing every carefully styled detail captured in the photos makes the entire ordeal worthwhile. Brightly colored wig fibers quickly turn frizzy if neglected, showing every flyaway strand, so every break required gentle combing. Sweat can leave foundation patchy, making carrying loose powder and blotting sheets true lifesavers—all invaluable lessons learned on the convention floor. Today's makeup held up fairly well, and sitting down in the dress required extra caution so the hoop petticoat wouldn't crease and compromise the silhouette. This serves as a complete archive of the day. Looking forward to our next gathering.
