[Mysterious Heroine X Alter cosplay] Autumn Streets and a Cup of Brown Sugar Pearl Milk

Today's sugar intake came from a cinnamon donut and brown sugar pearl milk. While I usually avoid overly sweet drinks before going out in full makeup for a shoot, the sunlight was so lovely today that I decided to relax a bit and hold the drink straight in hand as a shooting prop.

A few mishaps happened this morning. I noticed that the prepared bandana's color was far off from the original design; to keep it from looking jarring on camera, I quickly dug out some non-woven felt and cut a replacement on the spot. The edges were somewhat rough, but thankfully the scarf itself was thick enough that a little tucking concealed it completely. After rushing out the door, I realized halfway through the commute that I had forgotten my headpiece. Turning back would have made me hopelessly late, so I pressed forward under the bright sun, figuring I could always paint it in during post-processing.

Considering I wore a navy academy-style coat accented with white stripes paired with a large red-and-white plaid scarf, the bold color blocks created crisp contrast—this blue-and-red clash revealed great texture under ample natural daylight. Today's photos were divided into two main parts: direct-to-lens selfies and roadside full-body shots taken with the camera.

Because the scarf occupies substantial volume, I intentionally left extra headroom in the composition to give the props a slightly larger presence. The color of the drink in my hand also blended naturally into the autumn/winter palette. I scouted several cool-toned backdrops, like a blue vending machine and railings, to echo the colors of my coat. During the shoot, afternoon side-backlight filtered through tree leaves onto my hair, giving the wig an authentic, luminous sheen.

Although missing the forgotten headpiece, wearing black-rimmed glasses helped frame my face naturally. The lower half paired a dark plaid skirt with Black stockings over-the-knee socks and platform boots, introducing sleek lines into an otherwise heavily layered outfit. The sheen of the stockings kept the leg silhouette clean, ensuring my proportions weren't overwhelmed by the bulky scarf and coat.

In post-processing, I mainly adjusted exposure and color temperature. Since the raw shots were already quite clear and translucent, I avoided heavy stylization to preserve the bright, warm sunlight vibe. The background leaves and street were gently blurred while keeping facial retouching clean and natural.

Despite the hiccups of bringing the wrong prop and forgetting an accessory, the entire shoot felt wonderfully relaxed. Sitting on a park bench for a bit and strolling along the railings yielded candid moments far more natural than stiff, deliberate posing. This impromptu, quickly assembled look surprisingly captured more authentic everyday life vibes than shoots prepped for weeks.
