[Hatsune Miku cosplay] Recreating Hatsune Miku's Classic Look: Guangzhou May Day Firefly ACG Expo Photo Delivery - Image 1

The moment I received the delivered photos and saw how the light fell across my face with such clarity, I felt that all the details from this shoot were fully brought to life. This time I cosplayed Hatsune Miku, shooting on-site at the Guangzhou May Day Firefly ACG Expo. Although it was quite noisy outside, the lighting inside the photo booth was controlled cleanly, with cool-toned light sources accentuating the vibe of this styling perfectly.

Let's talk about the costume and styling. The cut of this outfit flatters body proportions nicely; the pairing of the white sleeveless top and black pleated skirt is very faithful to the original, and the teal trim along the skirt hem looks fantastic in texture. The "01" mark on the left arm is also a signature detail. To visually elongate leg lines, I paired the outfit with over-the-knee Black stockings and black platform chunky-heeled leather shoes. Honestly, wearing those platform shoes for hours was exhausting on the feet, but in front of the lens they carried the character's solid, weighty presence so well that it was worth enduring.

The wig was a massive project this time—extra-long teal twin-tails. To achieve the dynamic flowing motion shown in the photos, the post-processing artist worked with meticulous care. The photographer captured motion angles brilliantly: the moment I turned my head back, the lines of the Black stockings and skirt hem flowed smoothly without feeling restricted by the heavy garments.

This anime expo experience was truly unforgettable. Huge thanks to the photographer for guiding poses and to the editor for handling the environment and light flares, giving the entire scene a crisp, cool sci-fi aesthetic. Combined with Hatsune Miku's classic look, the final result turned out even better than anticipated. This experience also allowed me to express Hatsune Miku's various postures with much deeper nuance.
