Wearing this munition ship costume for Kashino Cosplay of the Sakura Empire, I completed this photoshoot at the Changsha Qingkong Academy Season convention. Regarding this outfit, the core highlight is the large silver bell hanging around the neck, boasting a solid metallic texture, which, paired with the animal ear headpiece and long tail, creates a distinct visual identity. This maid-style dress contains rich details: not only does the neckline feature ruffle trims, but the purple ribbon bow at the waist is also an eye-catching touch. When styling, I paired it with lace-trimmed white stockings to enhance the layering of this White thigh-highs outfit. The white stockings reflect ambient light beautifully in dark settings, echoing the light-colored skirt gracefully.
During the shoot, we explored several standing and seated poses. The first pose on a high stool holding a tray with one hand aimed to convey a relaxed, on-standby state, while placing the other hand on the hip made the posture look confident and capable. I felt that hand tension was key—holding the tray couldn't look too stiff while needing to balance the prop, so we retook this angle multiple times to select a shot with satisfying composition and expression. The second pose, kneeling on a white plush mat, focused on showcasing the skirt's silhouette and the graceful extension of the tail—a popular angle among fellow fans. The props were simple: a white round tray and black base stand, adding subtle atmosphere to the frame.
At the Changsha Qingkong Academy Season venue, lighting conditions were rather complex, but I'm quite satisfied with the resulting Convention photos. Representing a transport ship, the skirt design exhibits a lovely fluttering dynamic when walking. Though the weight of the ruffles was slightly burdensome, making the silhouette fuller made the trade-off worthwhile. One detail requiring attention was securing the tail to ensure it curved naturally in every pose rather than protruding stiffly.
The convention crowd posed a slight challenge, but fortunately, the studio booth area provided enough crowd control. We opted for a night-themed lighting setup, where the light sculpted sharp definition across facial features and fabric textures. For makeup, purple-pink eyeshadow and natural lip color made the gaze look brighter and clearer. Even though the venue felt stuffy due to the weather, I maintained my condition to capture the character's temperament.
Shooting these Sakura Empire munition ship Convention photos brought many interesting experiences for my Casual cosplay journey, and I'm grateful for the photographer's composition and framing. My style emphasizes faithful posture recreation and capturing subtle expressions without excessive exaggerated effects, hoping everyone can appreciate the dedication put into this costume and the character's overarching tone. Since it was shot live at a convention, avoiding background clutter was essential, so the selected photos focus entirely on the visual synergy of character and attire. Considering the environmental constraints, we achieved the best possible result.
For post-processing, contrast was adjusted so the white dress looked more translucent against the dark background while retaining the delicate texture on the White thigh-highs outfit. As an on-site record of Azur Lane cosplay, I believe it successfully leaves a vivid and memorable impression.
