To faithfully recreate Jeanne d'Arc (Alter)'s aggressive aura and cold glamour, I invested extensive care into the overall garment design and styling. Let's start with the wardrobe: the centerpiece is a black leather corset whose material yields a pronounced sheen under studio strobes, yet also exerts a tight cinch that required controlled breathing throughout poses to maintain its clean contour. The crimson ribbon and metallic pendant across the chest serve as the signature accent; amid an expansive sea of deep black, this slash of red bursts forth like a roaring blaze, perfectly echoing her character concept fueled by burning wrath and destructive vengeance.
The lower skirt features intricate structural layering—splicing multiple tiers of black satin, mesh, and lace, detailed with bat-wing-inspired cutouts along both hips. The skirt's internal structure held up exceptionally well: oversized black side bows and sheer lace edges flowed with airy drama whenever I shifted stances. To harmonize with the ensemble, I paired it with thigh-high Black stockings, tied with scarlet ribbons around the ankles, and platform high heels. While prolonged standing was exhausting, the footwear dramatically elongated the silhouette's visual lines.
Regarding props and makeup, the black greatsword with crimson runic grooves carried immense heft, making one-handed grips quite punishing. For the overhead two-handed stance in Photo 1, stabilizing our center of gravity demanded tight engagement across my arms and back muscles, while channeling piercing intensity into my gaze. A metallic headdress sat atop my crown, letting a red gemstone pendant dangle squarely along the center forehead. The wig was styled in pale ash-blonde with subtle curls toward the tips, leaving the bangs slightly disheveled. Makeup-wise, amber-yellow contact lenses paired with dark smoky eyeshadow slightly lengthened the outer eye corners, complemented by chiseled cheek contouring to soften youthful roundness and carve out sharper bone structure.
The full-body pose in Photo 2 was an ultimate test of core stability—raising both hands beside the head while keeping the torso upright and ensuring the voluminous skirt fanned out fully without appearing bulky. We utilized pure magenta-red seamless backdrop paper, a hyper-saturated hue that puts precise lighting control to the test. A key light angled from the front-flank sculpted the leather's specular highlights, while side-rim backlights cleanly accentuated the skirt's dimensional tiers and sheer tulle. This stark red-and-black contrast popped brilliantly before the lens, instantly unleashing the frame's visual tension.
The entire shoot required constant repositioning of the sword and skirt folds, as dynamic poses easily distorted the heavy fabric's intended silhouette. Capturing this look relied heavily on fabric textures and physical strength behind each stance. Though bearing the weight of accessories and the heavy blade was physically draining, seeing that suffocating dread of despair and fury in the final deliverables validated every adjustment. For a character rooted in intense Gothic style Anime cosplay, unwavering resolve in your eyes and posture is paramount—leaving no room for soft expressions, remaining locked in an Avenger's unbridled fervor.
