[Denia Cosplay] The Pink-Haired Maiden in the World of Wuthering Waves

Cosplaying Denia (Denia Cosplay) from Wuthering Waves took quite a bit of preparation, from the makeup tests all the way to the official shoot. For the wig, I picked a pink-purple gradient style whose soft sheen looked lovely under convention hall lighting. Small buns styled on either side of the crown, adorned with black lace hair accessories, added fine detail to the overall look. However, long curly wigs tangle easily in crowded spaces, so I had to comb through the ends after every few poses to keep the volume intact. For makeup, bright blue contacts together with carefully contoured eye makeup helped enlarge the eyes, while pinkish warm tones for the eyeshadow and blush mirrored the hair color.

The outfit structure was quite intricate. The top has a tailored white design, and the heavy sapphire and gold chain decorations across the chest and neckline shifted easily with larger movements—I spent a long time securing them with hidden snaps to find the most stable fit. The most striking elements—the red gloves and white plush sleeve cuffs—created a bold color contrast, lending visual punch whether bending or extending my arms. The skirt featured a layered construction with a white outer tier, a black middle tier, and a blue inner tier. To hold its flared silhouette, two layers of petticoats were worn underneath. As I moved, the alternating blue and black fabrics, along with the hemline tailoring and gold patterns, were clearly captured. To highlight the skirt's texture, lifting the hem required precise tension—pinching the edges lightly so it fanned out into a graceful arc.

For legs, I wore white pantyhose (White stockings) paired with black Mary Jane shoes. Walking around outdoors and across convention halls in pantyhose always brings the risk of snags, so I carried clear nail polish just in case. The white pantyhose flattering the leg lines tied the whole look together with a sweet, well-behaved charm that matches Denia's sweet persona.

To reflect Denia's character, I incorporated playful and energetic poses, such as standing on one leg and gesturing outward. Standing on one leg required steady balance while keeping the upper-body jewelry centered; engaging the whole body allowed the skirt to drape naturally, delivering great dynamic energy in the shots. The material of the red gloves was quite slick, making it easy to slip when holding the skirt hem or making gestures, so angles needed constant tweaking.

Lighting at conventions is tricky and the environment was chaotic. To ensure clean shots for these Convention photos, I coordinated with the photographer to use a wide aperture to blur the busy background and keep focus purely on the subject, while shifting angles to dodge distracting floor glares. Wearing a heavy wig and accessories for hours caused some neck strain, so taking them off during breaks was a relief. All in all, this shoot faithfully captured the complex details and layers of the character's costume. Putting care into the wig styling, accessory placement, and skirt shape made the entire prep and shooting process truly rewarding for this Anime cosplay.
