[Jeanne d'Arc (Alter) cosplay] Drunk Jalter Cosplay Night: The Dark Saint in the Bar

This time I tried Jeanne d'Arc (Alter) cosplay in the Drunk Jalter cosplay style, and the finished photos from the location bar photoshoot are finally out! A lot of thought went into everything from makeup testing to final output. The purple and black color scheme combined with black lace details captures both the character's bold personality and a touch of banquet elegance. The dark purple headpiece on top was custom-made with very smooth lines; wearing it instantly gives that arrogant yet dangerous aura. Combined with the silver wig and iconic ahoge, I'm quite satisfied with the level of recreation myself.

The location chosen was a retro-style lounge bar. The warm orange lights and the wine bottle rack in the background fit the Drunk Jalter theme perfectly. I specifically prepared wine glasses and red wine, because her tipsy look in the game has such a charming gap moe—usually a righteous saint, but after a bit of drink, she becomes languid and captivating. During the bar photoshoot, the photographer kept guiding me to relax, telling me not to pose too stiffly and just treat it like sipping drinks and chatting with friends. So I casually sat at the bar counter, letting my legs hang naturally or stretching them onto the side of a chair, making sure both the skirt's folds and the stockings cosplay texture could be captured.

The trickiest part of this costume was the connection between the dress and the gloves. Long elbow-length gloves paired with shoulder lace decorations, accented with tiny rhinestones, cast a subtle glimmer under the lights. The purple stockings were the highlight of the whole look; their translucent texture elongated my leg lines. Crossing my legs while sitting on the high stool or slightly lifting one leg nicely showcased her nonchalant sexiness in this stockings cosplay. To find the best angles, we tried several camera positions back and forth, finally picking three photos to post. The first photo with a side profile raising a glass has a storytelling gaze; the second sitting straight with hands on knees has a very stable composition; the third lifting a leg while holding a wine glass is the most dynamic.

In fact, the character herself has a very distinct personality—cold on the outside, warm on the inside, speaking harsh words while remaining pure at heart. During the shoot, I tried to incorporate that tsundere expression while staying relaxed without being overly tense, since Jalter lets down her guard when drinking. As this was shot in a public bar, quite a few curious guests looked over, but I didn't mind much, treating it as an immersive character experience.

Regarding post-production, the photographer kept a very natural skin tone and lighting for me without over-smoothing, as I feel photos in dark settings should have a bit of grain to fit that tipsy vibe. The headpiece and wig showed clear layers under the lights; silver-white hair paired with purple and black was very eye-catching, which is what I'm most satisfied with this time. After sharing it in community circles, many fellow fans asked about the source of the headpiece and dress. Actually, they were custom-tailored, combined with some off-the-shelf accessories, serving as a relatively complete character recreation attempt.

The temperature on the shooting day wasn't low, but wearing a long-sleeved long dress with gloves and thick stockings inside an air-conditioned room felt a bit stuffy. However, for the sake of the photos, I endured it all. I remember taking a break sitting by the bar drinking water and suddenly thinking this scene was so well suited for everyday slice-of-life shoots. It doesn't have to be overly extravagant; authentic everyday atmosphere actually creates better immersion. So if you have ideas for similar themes, I strongly suggest finding a bar with warm ambient lighting—a bottle of wine and a glass as props are enough to support the entire frame.

Overall, I really like this set of organized photos. There wasn't excessive posing, with most shots capturing natural candid states. The fabric texture, stocking details, and eye contact translated under the lighting to restore the exact feeling we wanted.
