Cosplaying Sweety from Zenless Zone Zero this time, I am quite satisfied with the overall styling's accuracy. This red-and-black color-blocked sleeveless top has numerous details. The red portion has a relatively crisp material that holds up the silhouette of the clothing, while the black portion carries a slight satin shimmer. The mandarin collar design coupled with golden piping makes it look very textured. Chinese frog buttons were used as decoration on the chest, looking both capable and carrying a hint of Chinese style charm. The most special design of this outfit is undoubtedly the cutout at the abdomen, edged with golden ring decorations, revealing a slight waistline. I paired it with a red cord accessory; I initially thought I might feel a bit unaccustomed to this style, but after putting it on, I found it actually fits the character's own setting extremely well.
The wig part is light golden short hair, and that signature small ahoge on top of the head took me quite a lot of time to repeatedly tease out using hair wax and setting spray to ensure it looks natural without collapsing. Slightly longer sideburns were left on both sides to flatter the face shape, and the hair ends were also carefully trimmed. In terms of makeup, eye makeup is of paramount importance; I deliberately wore purple-blue toned contact lenses to restore the character's gaze. The eyeliner and false eyelashes were appropriately enlarged to emphasize the deepness of the eye area, while the base makeup pursued that fair and translucent effect, matching natural lip color to make the entire makeup look cleaner.
The sign in my hand is a very important prop for this appearance: a white background with golden characters on the face, blue wave textures at the bottom, and the most eye-catching part is the circular device connected below emitting a faint blue light. To make this glowing effect perfectly displayed in the photos, I specifically adjusted the angles of the mirror and lighting during the shoot. By the way, the phone case I'm holding features a silver mecha relief style; such tech-filled small items match the overall atmosphere exceptionally well.
Because it was a mirror selfie taken in front of the vanity mirror in the studio, the background consisted of very realistic white curtains and some clothing racks and chairs in the back. Without adding any fancy special effects, the goal was to authentically present the texture of the clothing and the details of the props. While taking this selfie, I practiced my expression in front of the mirror several times, adjusting the angle of the chin to showcase Sweety's calm yet slightly tsundere personality. The art style of Zenless Zone Zero has always attracted me deeply; that trendy urban feel and unique character design fill me with motivation whenever I prepare any cosplay. The color clash of this outfit is extremely striking; the classic red, black, and gold color scheme is very photogenic in front of the lens, and as long as the lighting is well-set, the reflection on the fabric makes the clothing look very layered. From the maintenance of the costume, the styling of the wig, to the confirmation of every accessory, although this process is tedious, seeing oneself in the mirror perfectly presenting the character's look makes all the effort feel completely worthwhile.
