This Mid-Autumn Festival themed photoshoot is finally meeting everyone. To fit the atmosphere of moon-chasing, we built a studio set featuring Red maple, wooden windows, and a full moon. The character Hsin in Wuthering Waves inherently carries a rich Eastern fantasy vibe, so we put a tremendous amount of effort into the hair and makeup. The wig is made of light golden long curls, and the huge animal ears on top are custom-made; their texture feels very realistic, but they are also extremely heavy, requiring lots of bobby pins secured to the wig net during shooting to ensure they wouldn't fall off during big movements. To highlight the fox's agility, the eye makeup used reddish-brown eyeshadow gradients paired with amber contact lenses, and a sharp little fang was painted at the corner of the mouth. The red totem tattoo on the back of the hand is also a specially designed detail; to complement this close-up, the hand posture was deliberately adjusted in the third photo.
The red, black, and gold color scheme of the outfit is very classic; the gem accessory on the chest and the golden chains have a fantastic texture, and the translucent red veil shimmers subtly under the lighting. The seated pose in the first photo is one I'm quite satisfied with, showcasing the draping feel of this outfit, and the bare legs paired with transparent high heels echo the overall lightweight visual effect. When shooting the second photo, I adjusted the sitting posture to let the long hair fall naturally, an angle that better highlights the decorations on the neck and chest, with a more ethereal gaze. The third photo presents a playful smile, revealing the little fang and the hand tattoo, making the character look even more vivid. To nail these poses, we repeatedly adjusted the position of the Red maple branches in the studio, ensuring both depth in the foreground and clear visibility of the subject's face and key apparel details.
This shoot lasted from afternoon until evening. To capture that hazy feeling of moonlight spilling over the Red maple leaves, the photographer used many warm-toned lights shining from the back-side, combined with a reflector at the bottom to create a reflection effect resembling water or a mirror. Post-processing retained the skin's natural texture without over-smoothing, aiming primarily to highlight the makeup details and the dimensionality of light and shadow. This photo set also participates in the Fan Content Festival and creator incentive programs. During the shoot, I kept imagining Hsin's mindset of admiring the Red maple alone under the moonlight, longing for reunion, or guarding something, hoping to convey this emotion to viewers through these gazes and postures. Happy Mid-Autumn Festival—enjoying the moon and eating mooncakes—and I hope this work brings everyone a little holiday joy.
