【The Shorekeeper cosplay】Indoor Scene Creation to Capture a Deep-Sea Dreamland in Wuthering Waves - Image 1

To capture the sense of serenity of The Shorekeeper, we built a blue flower sea scene indoors. Instead of choosing an outdoor location shoot, we transformed the studio space from scratch to highly restore the mysterious and quiet temperament of The Shorekeeper's setting. The highlight of the entire shoot was the scene layout. We needed to simulate an atmosphere similar to the deep sea or an otherworldly garden. A large amount of blue-toned flowers occupied more than half of the venue, paired with a glowing light source at the bottom, making the character appear as if surrounded by glowing blue lifeforms.

The photographer (@Yansi ooo) was very particular about the lighting. In order to achieve the sacred feeling that comes with the highlight on the chest in the frame, we used a cool-toned main light source and ambient light on the front and side-back, while adding some light spot projections at the top, which combined with post-processing enhanced the visual effect of flying butterflies. For the wig care, we specially did a bit of layer trimming, which, paired with wearing the hood, kept the head from looking too big while preserving the flowing lines of the original character design. To make the glowing point on the character's chest look like it has a breathing sensation, we deliberately adjusted the color temperature of the light source, mixing a bit of a blue-green tone into the cool white around 6500K. Along with the small LED light strings hidden in the flowers, it seemed as if she herself was emitting life energy.

Regarding makeup and styling, the light blue long hair and pure white accessories needed to express a weightless sense of wind. The shape of the hood and bows cooperated with the overall silhouette, making the body lines appear both soft and powerful in front of the lens. When framing, the camera was intentionally brought closer, using a shallow depth of field to blur the foreground petals and guide the visual focus directly to the character's face and chest, creating a clear focal point. The entire shooting process was actually quite time-consuming. In order to capture the breathing rhythm of the character closing her eyes and immersing herself in the environment, we needed to make repeated attempts at adjusting light positions and flower cluster arrangements. Sometimes, to avoid errors or obstructions, we not only had to lie on the ground to rearrange the flowers but also keep an eye on the folds of the costume at all times. Fortunately, the atmosphere of the final product was maxed out. The cool-toned blue did not make people feel icy or indifferent; instead, it offered a gentle sensation like entering a dreamland. This entire process from building to lighting and to final photos truly tests team coordination. Shooting such a blue-toned atmosphere topic demands high requirements for tone uniformity and detail control, and I am very glad to finally present the image of The Shorekeeper we expected in our hearts through this piece of Cosplay photography.
