Since the caption mentions "Commander, be good and listen to your auntie today too," the overall tone for today had to capture that composed, effortless authority unique to her.
The most striking aspect of this look is the visual impact of its materials and colors. The glossy black patent leather material paired with large red lapels strikes a balance between cyberpunk coldness and the character's bold arrogance. For the hairstyle, I used a gradient short wig with a black base fading into blue tips, which, paired with the iconic pair of red horns atop my head, creates rich visual layers. To express Ulrich von Hutten's demeanor, I specifically chose yellow contacts paired with a softer eyeliner technique, giving her gaze a playful tease mixed with unquestionable pressure.
Shooting patent leather outfits at a convention actually puts a photographer's skills to the test. Because the ambient lighting is complex and patent leather reflects strongly, a slight misstep can result in large blown-out highlights. This time, working with photographer Mu Bai was seamless; he skillfully utilized top lighting and diffuse reflection to keep the material's gloss under control, preserving three-dimensional contours without letting highlights wash out the details. Today we focused on two main poses: a single-knee kneel in the first photo and a leaning pose in the second. The kneeling pose looks low-centered, but it heavily engages the core to show off the waist-to-hip contours and leg length proportions while keeping shoulders relaxed to exude an effortless arrogance.
The second pose, leaning partially against a metal beam, focuses more on extension and relaxation. Using elongated leg lines and black-and-red thigh-high boots, it stretches the visual proportion and gives the image room to breathe. The inner layer of this costume is snug, so the exposed skin perfectly offsets the heavy texture of the patent leather clothing, presenting a subtly sexy techwear vibe. For an outfit with complex props and straps, frequent adjustments during the shoot were required to avoid accidental exposure or messy fabric creases, but luckily the tailoring fit well and the strap structure stayed securely in place.
Since these are convention photos, the background was filled with passing crowds and booths. Mu Bai used a wide aperture to create a shallow depth of field, blurring the people behind into soft bokeh spots, allowing the subject to remain the clear visual focal point. Throughout the shoot, despite the tight skin-tight feel of the patent leather and the warm convention venue causing quite a bit of sweat, seeing the final sharp, confident pose made every drop worthwhile. Expressing the character's sharp and free-spirited nature through the lens in an anime-style photography fashion is a creative process I truly enjoy.

Through this makeup, styling, and body language, I hoped to convey an aura that makes the Commander feel intimidated yet irresistibly compelled to obey. Simply putting on this outfit and standing before the camera allows the character's intrinsic power to flow naturally, guiding me to capture the poses that best embody her essence.
