Arriving at the exhibition venue dressed up as Ruan Mei, this set of convention photos records the authentic light and shadow of the convention at that moment. This traditional Chinese style cosplay outfit primarily features an interweaving of cyan-blue and white, embellished with details of a black background and gold borders. In terms of fabric choice, the upper body utilizes a material with a subtle pearlescent feel, which, paired with a semi-transparent white outer cape, beautifully reflects the character's elegant and refined temperament. The pearl necklace and the neck ornament with a ruby pendant elevate the overall gorgeousness, while the black leather long gloves add a touch of sleekness. The leg straps and high heel design not only elongate the lower body proportions but also give the outfit a greater sense of layering.

The recreation of props is the focus of this work, and this moon qin is the core of this shoot. The body of the instrument reproduces the cyan-blue tone and golden cloud patterns of the original setting. It is very heavy, and my arms indeed felt a bit sore after holding it for a long time on site. The pink flower branches specially adorned on the neck and head of the qin bring a touch of vitality and gentleness to the cold instrument. The round fan is also very exquisite; the flower branch pattern on the fan surface and the hanging turquoise tassels are highly eye-catching in close-up shots. While shooting at the convention venue, the huge spotlights overhead formed the most prominent bokeh spots in the frame. This special lighting effect actually made the silhouette of the subject sharper, filling the scene with atmosphere.

Regarding the coordination of poses, this outfit is actually quite a test of the model's interpretation of the character's temperament. In the process of switching between standing and sitting postures, I intentionally kept the lines of my arms and back stretched. For example, in the set of shots sitting on the silver ladder stand, crossing my legs was used to showcase the leg lines, paired with the lightweight posture of holding the qin, hoping to preserve the character's quiet temperament mixed with a bit of detachment. The dynamic snapshot of the fluttering streamers was actually attempted several times. To maintain the flowing feel of the white-base streamers with blue and gold trim, it required continuous turning while controlling the center of gravity of the prop, finally capturing the shutter moment right when the wind lifted the streamers.

The focus of this makeup lies in the eye makeup and color coordination. Using ice-blue colored contact lenses to echo the characteristics of the character's eyes, and using warmer blush and lip colors to neutralize the cool-toned costume, makes the overall face look softer and more radiant. For the hairstyle, a slightly curled updo was done, paired with loose strands to frame the face, which not only fits the character design but also adapted to the slightly stuffy convention temperature. Of course, every time we take convention photos, we face the issue of complex site lighting. In this convention environment with intense top lighting, the photographer still beautifully preserved the costume details and skin texture without any overexposure issues.

Sharing these convention photos serves as a small summary of this convention trip. From waking up early in the morning to do styling and putting on the complex attire, to queuing up to wait for shooting spots, the whole process was hard work. However, when the final presented effect meets expectations, all the effort becomes meaningful. This cosplay hobby is not just about dressing up as a beloved character, but also about using costumes, props, and body language to materialize an anime girl character into the 3D world within the few seconds of the shutter click. I hope this set of photos allows everyone to feel my dedication to this character, and I hope everyone can occasionally find a moment of peace and leisure in their busy lives, just like the atmosphere of these photos.
