[Leizi the Thunderbringer cosplay] Arknights, Sword Shadows and Cold Gleams in a Spring Chinese Garden

Last time I did this Leizi the Thunderbringer cosplay set, it was in a spring Chinese garden. The early spring light pierced through the flying eaves of the courtyard corridors, pulling out high-contrast light and shadow on the floor tiles; this environment actually fits the serene and upright temperament of Arknights operators exceptionally well. Before going out for the shoot, I spent quite a long time styling the wig. This long golden hair needs to have natural curls, and the golden deer horn headpieces on both sides of the top of the head are the soul of the look. Together with the pointy elf ears and paired with the slightly bluish pupils and eyeshadow in the eye makeup, the character's overall demeanor was already established the moment the makeup and styling were completed.

For the costume, I chose a dark brown off-the-shoulder bandeau-style top. The blue and gold geometric patterns around the neckline must fit very neatly, paired with a black collar featuring a square metal buckle on the neck and a hanging thin red cord, pulling the sense of layering to the max. The shoulder area is an exposed design, with a wide golden armband on the arm, along with white gloves, and large sleeves pieced together in bright yellow and deep blue draping from the sides, yielding an elegant dynamic feel when walking. The long string of accessories around the waist is very sophisticated; that dark disc-shaped pendant combined with the red cord and white beads enhances the heavy and structured feel of the overall apparel. The lower hem is a gradient long skirt transitioning from dark to light colors, with a few white horizontal stripes at the very bottom; putting on this entire set takes quite a bit of time to adjust the positioning and the tightness of the belt.

This outdoor shoot was vastly different from what I shot before, because the photography enthusiast was my own maternal aunt. She doesn't usually encounter Cosplay photography much, but to be honest, the angles she snapshot carry a very special sense of life and breathability. Compared to those meticulously detailed high-end photography sessions, it added a bit of natural and relaxed flavor. I was constantly breaking into laughter when she was shooting me because that long sword prop was both long and heavy; I had to hold it with one hand to pose with a capable stance while paying attention to the center of gravity of the hilt, otherwise it would tilt forward at any time. The crossguard of this sword is extremely wide, with gold and blue intertwined, and the patterns on the blade are very uniform. Standing there leaning on the sword, my aunt praised me for having the sharp vigor of a female lead in a martial arts drama.

The weather on the day of the shoot was very cooperative; that natural warm light pierced through the wooden structures of the Chinese garden, falling on my hair and skirt hem, creating a natural contrast between light and dark in the backlit areas. The ancient pillars of that long corridor in the picture, paired with the lanterns in the hallway, as well as the pink blossoming trees and slightly autumn-colored leaves in the yard, formed an extremely harmonious color echo with my costume, which is dominated by yellow, black, and gold. Although shooting the entire set was very tiring and the apparel was slightly heavy, the photo production effect and the light and shadow atmosphere were completely in place.

The full-body shots of walking in the long corridor and the close-ups had to be caught very precisely. The footsteps on that day drove the large sleeves to sway, and combined with the fragmented light spots of sunlight on the stone slab path, it gave a strong sense of a visual story. Because it is cosplay, the stability of the makeup is also very important. My eye and lip makeup, which contained quite a few details, didn't smudge much throughout the entire day, which was also a little bit of photographic luck. This style of combining an antique garden with an anime character is actually harder to integrate into the scene than imagined, but fortunately, the light, composition, and atmosphere all synchronized this time. I am quite proud of my record of Leizi the Thunderbringer cosplay this time; after finishing the shoot, I even made an appointment with my aunt to go to another lotus pond in the summer for an ancient style shoot. This kind of experience where family plays cosplay with me is also a very happy part of the entire outdoor shoot; there is nothing happier than recording one's beloved character in spring. This setting is truly interesting, regardless of the styling or the color scheme; the photos taken are of a degree that can be treasured in the album for a long time, and I can't wait to edit the remaining negatives.
