My schedule at the Shanghai P&I Exhibition was intensely packed, facing countless telephoto zooms and prime lenses before the booth every single day. From July 23 to 26 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center, serving as a booth model meant gearing up in pristine shape to deliver my peak condition for visiting photographers. The flagship styling centered on flowing cerulean hair paired with mechanical sculpted hairpieces, matched to a midriff-baring top paneled in deep navy and white with translucent vinyl overlays. Down below, over-the-knee Purple patent leather boots anchored the look firmly in a Futuristic sci-fi style and techwear aesthetic.
Lighting across the expo halls was intricate, and the photographers' gear was top-tier. Because my boots featured high-gloss patent leather, they produced sharp specular reflections under key lights, requiring constant micro-adjustments of leg angles against the red gaming chair to create punchy chromatic contrast and visual depth. Many creators were field-testing the latest flagship camera bodies and lenses, exchanging shooting parameters while directing subtle posing nuances. Perched on the red gaming chair, I relaxed my neck and shoulders while canting my center of gravity to one hip, emphasizing the structured cutouts of the costume and the sleek lines of the boots while granting my arms room for natural extension.
Beyond this blue-haired look, Day 1 featured a blonde wig styled with red cat ears, white fishnets, and a slouchy pink jacket draped off one shoulder—a look tailored around languid ease, where reclining into the seat with crossed legs flattered the fishnet textures. Day 2 transitioned to brown locks with a pink-and-blue color-blocked compression bodysuit, a pink toy blaster, and red tactical face paint, pivoting toward lively combat energy that called for bold gestures. Cycling through multiple looks each day tested my stamina, but the positive feedback made every minute worthwhile. Engaging with fellow creators on how to guide models and freeze natural moments made this Exhibition portrait photography experience unforgettable.
