The chosen location was an Indoor swimming pool, where the teal mosaic tiles at the bottom established a crisp, cool color foundation. This framing heavily tested photography technique, as water surface ripples and refractions can easily distort character silhouettes and clutter the edges. To achieve the ideal visual aesthetic, I controlled my posture in front of the lens as much as possible, remaining seated upright with my hands leaning back for balance and legs naturally extended to minimize water ripples. The tranquil water surface acted as a natural filter, reflecting the dark swimsuit's silhouette and subtly warped leg contours—a lighting nuance hard to replicate in a dry studio.

The makeup design matched Misaki's pale skin tone, emphasizing a clean, translucent finish. Even in relatively dim aquatic ambient light, maintaining facial clarity was paramount. I focused on a natural berry-toned lipstick as a visual anchor, complementing the dark blue School swimsuit without appearing overly loud. Recreating her hairstyle was equally crucial: the dark short wig needed a crisp outline, with her iconic circular hair ornaments serving as indispensable details. Before entering the water, I specifically set the wig strands to cling naturally along both cheeks so they wouldn't clump when wet, preserving high character recognition.

While completing a solo underwater piece requires intense concentration—overcoming buoyancy to keep poses stable and fluid while retaining a relaxed expression in front of the camera—seeing the final photos with their misty, quiet serenity makes every bit of effort worthwhile. Stepping outside a character's everyday canonical setting to explore different scenes and attire is precisely where the greatest joy of Cosplay photography lies.
