This time I challenged Hatsune Miku's look from Rabbit Hole. The overall style features a classic black, white, and red color scheme, which, combined with the silver-blue gradient wig and the pink tones at the tips, creates a very rich visual effect. The shooting location was chosen in a vintage study room. The leather sofa and dark wooden bookshelves create a subtle sense of "confinement," which perfectly fits the slightly mysterious and playful atmosphere of the Rabbit Hole theme.
For the clothing, a high-gloss patent leather outfit was selected. Paired with fishnets and stiletto heels, the texture is fully accentuated under the lights. However, wearing a bunny girl outfit actually requires a lot of attention to posture because the slim-fit cut has high demands on the waist and back lines; during the shoot, I intentionally controlled the angle of my shoulders and neck to avoid looking bloated.
The props in the photos also took a lot of thought. For instance, the pink handcuffs and the metal chain bit in my mouth are not just randomly bought props, but custom-colored based on the original design. Even the red ribbons and bows recreate the movement of the streamers in the original illustration as much as possible. During the shoot, it was quite a test of expression management. I had to maintain a lazy yet slightly provocative look in my eyes while keeping my hand movements natural and not stiff.
Regarding the makeup, the focus was placed on extending the eye makeup, using eyeliner to elongate the eye shape. This was paired with a slightly matte base makeup to avoid reflection conflicts with the patent leather, while the lip color was chosen to have a soft pink, dewy look to balance out the coolness of the black color. In post-processing, I didn't do any overly exaggerated color grading. I mainly darkened the brightness of the background to make the red bows and the highlights of the patent leather pop out more, which makes the layers of the frame more comfortable.
As a complete character presentation, everything from the wig trimming to the placement of accessories was repeatedly adjusted. Especially for the position of the bunny ears—placing them too high would make it look top-heavy, while too low would cover the layers at the top of the head. In the end, they were fixed at a slightly backward-tilting angle, making the overall look more coordinated. I hope everyone likes this version of Hatsune Miku captured through this cosplay photography session.
