[Kuda Izuna Cosplay] Summer Beach Memories from Blue Archive

Choosing to shoot this Kuda Izuna cosplay at the beach during sunset was largely to capture that unique summer light and shadow from Blue Archive. The focus of this photoshoot was on recreating the dynamic Live2D feel of the character, hoping the photos could convey a sense of vitality somewhere between static and dynamic.

When preparing this outfit, grasping many subtle details was key to the styling. The blue, white, and yellow striped bikini fit the summer theme perfectly, while the red scarf around the neck created a wonderful color contrast under the sunset. The dark visor on the head paired with animal ears, along with yellow flower embellishments, were crucial elements in recreating the anime design. To adapt to the outdoor location, the ears and fox tail were reinforced to withstand strong sea breezes. The beaded bracelet on the wrist was also chosen to match the original character design as closely as possible.

The weather on the shooting day did present a few challenges. The ocean winds were strong at sunset, so keeping the tail fluffy and the fur flowing naturally required readjusting props between every shutter click. The beach sand also added difficulty to using reflector boards; stepping on the wet sand felt cool, which balanced out the slight heat of the summer evening. To recreate that lively dynamic quality of the character's Live2D model, I intentionally added a pose with crossed hands to guide the viewer's focus toward the face and chest details. The eyes needed to express both cute obedience and a sense of seaside relaxation—tuning these subtle expressions really depended on the atmosphere at the time.

The sunlight poured in from the side, creating lovely rim light that highlighted the hair texture and the vibrant red of the scarf. In post-processing, I tried using warm-toned filters to enhance the twilight colors while maintaining the subject's 3D dimension, aiming for a sweet spot between anime-style flatness and real-world realism. This style really tests your control over light and shade; compared to studio shoots, the unpredictable factors outdoors brought many pleasant surprises. Whether it was the sea's reflection or subtle shifts in shadow, everything made the final photos look more vivid and real.

After a full day of shooting, it really felt like stepping into the world of the game. Walking on the beach in swimsuit cosplay with a long tail wasn't easy, and every time a larger wave rolled in, we had to retreat quickly to shore. But whenever the ocean breeze blew past accompanied by the sunset, it felt like all the effort was completely worth it. The character's core trait as a cute anime girl recreation was brought to life through these specific props and makeup. From the subtle shine of the headwear to the angle of the scarf fluttering in the wind, every effort was made to recreate the image in my heart.

Finishing this set, I really fell in love with this immersive atmosphere. Transforming a 2D Live2D image into the real physical world was a fun creative process, requiring constant adjustments to expressions to achieve that lively yet cute visual feel. I didn't use过于 complex post-processing special effects for this shoot, focusing instead on natural light and color to present a genuine, down-to-earth summer beach Kuda Izuna. I thoroughly enjoyed this beach shooting experience and look forward to interpreting other facets of this character in different ways next time.
