The moment I put on Kiryuu Kikyou's blue and white sailor uniform and black cat ears, the atmosphere of the Japanese tatami room was instantly maximized. Today, the focus of the makeup was on the eye contours and the blending of blush, trying to recreate the character's slightly cool yet somewhat lazy gaze. The highlight details on the lower eyelids also match the character's original setting, making the overall look spirited yet cool.
The biggest highlight during the shoot was using multiple blue satin ribbons as props. These lines not only echo the character's own color palette but also break the dullness of a static frame, adding a touch of dynamism to the overall composition. The black hair and blue ribbons intertwine with the fluffy cat tail behind me. As the afternoon natural light filters through the shoji doors onto the tatami mats, the texture of the entire Japanese style photography studio harmonizes beautifully with this outfit.
Today, I specially chose a loose-fitting blue and white outer robe. The treatment of the collar and the position of the sailor uniform's bow look very energetic, which, paired with the short black hair and straight bangs, presents the character's temperament perfectly. What I am personally most satisfied with is the unforced, natural state captured in the frame this time. To showcase Kiryuu Kikyou's unique charm, I intentionally avoided exaggerated anime poses, opting instead for this relaxed cross-legged sitting posture and eye-contact interaction.
After several hours of studio shooting, switching between various lights and camera angles, we finally captured that playful yet slightly mysterious character trait. Through this Blue Archive cosplay official set, I hope to convey my understanding of this character, serving as a satisfying result for this studio collaboration.
