Today, I wrapped up a classroom cosplay photoshoot of Sunna from Zenless Zone Zero. The theme this time was 'after school,' and to embrace this atmosphere, we set up in a simulated classroom studio. The pink-and-white striped leg warmers and arm sleeves are the highlights of this styling; paired with denim shorts and white pantyhose cosplay elements, the overall visual vibe is extraordinarily playful. The wig features wavy, pale-blonde twin tails adorned with a ruffled black-and-white cat-ear headband. For makeup, light green contact lenses were complemented by a generous wash of pink shadow around the eyes and dramatic falsies to enlarge the gaze, while black bar stickers across the face and a black choker enhanced character accuracy. To highlight the design traits of the 'Angels of Delusion' look, I added a pink backpack and white wing accessories.
To prevent the frames from feeling flat, I prepared several interactive props. Alongside the pink backpack with mini white wings, I brought a retro pink landline telephone prop labeled '3/4'—holding it or posing with it on the school desk enriched the scene substantially. The pink-and-white heart microphone in hand was another essential accent. The classroom setting presented complex lighting challenges, combining harsh overhead fixtures with glare off the chalkboard, requiring continuous angle adjustments. I usually have the photographer take several test frames first to dial in the most flattering lighting.
To accentuate leg lines, I alternated between kneeling on the desk and sitting along the edge. The kneeling pose showcased the black leather garter strap on the thigh, which, paired with the striped leg warmers, elongated the legs visually. The seated pose felt more relaxed, creating organic interactions when paired with a briefcase prop. The second photo—kneeling sideways across the desk—beautifully framed the backpack's wings and my side profile curves. I also paid close attention to hand gestures, flashing playful cat paws or lightly cradling the mic to inject dynamic life into each shot.
Working as a commercial model in Guangzhou, I frequently tackle diverse studio sets and location shoots. The details in this classroom set were remarkably authentic, with chalkboard chalk art reading 'After School' alongside cute doodles of bunnies, hearts, and stars. A sunflower bouquet on the teacher's podium added a bright splash of color. When capturing anime-style photography, self-confidence and relaxation are key to embodying the character. I communicated constantly with the photographer about light and angles—using side light to sculpt facial contours and high-angle overhead shots to display full-body coordination. Between takes, I continually readjusted the twin tails to ensure the hair fell naturally.
The costume fabric is relatively light, making shooting in an air-conditioned room comfortable, though keeping it picture-perfect meant constantly smoothing out wrinkles, especially around the ruffled hem. The white shoes paired seamlessly with the white tights, looking crisp against the warm wood tones of the classroom desks. Through this shoot, I gained a deeper mastery of classroom photography techniques, finding my rhythm quickly whether shooting backlit or with direct light. The session went exceptionally well, and the final results captured both the character's sweetness and the carefree after-school mood.
