This Zenless Zone Zero Sunna cosplay feature photo set is finally out. Regarding the concept of this set, it was largely about recreating that cool yet cute street vibe of the character. Sunna's uniform has many details in its design. To achieve the best drape, the white shirt was specifically chosen with a slightly stiffer fabric, and the star and heart patterns on the tie were painted bit by bit referencing the character design sheets. The most crucial part is the pink-and-white striped sleevelets; to make them look full in front of the lens, I added a thin base layer inside. As for the wig, mint green twin-tails are prone to looking frizzy, so I spent quite a bit of time beforehand styling them with hairspray and a flat iron, especially those two cat ears and star hair accessories on top of the head, which needed to be fixed extremely securely to prevent them from falling off during wide movements. Makeup focused heavily on the eyes, choosing yellow-green contact lenses to match the character's pupil color, slightly elongating the eyeliner to add a bit of a feline feel, and adding a small special effect for the fangs. For the shooting locations, we chose a rooftop and a nighttime parking lot. Those shots of pushing a shopping cart on the rooftop actually utilized the twilight blue hour, where the sky's color formed a cool-toned contrast with the hair. The stretching effect of the wide-angle lens made the frame more dynamic; to capture the moment of reaching out, I sat in the shopping cart and repeatedly adjusted my center of gravity several times. Keeping balance in the shopping cart is actually harder than imagined—a little force causes the cart to slide, requiring exceptional coordination with the photographer to candidly capture that natural yet interactive gaze. For the full-body shot in the evening parking lot, to highlight the leg lines and the pink-and-white striped stockings, I deliberately paired them with black straps at the ankles, along with a pink leather garter on the thigh, adding a bit of techwear style. Nighttime lighting used hard light sources, allowing the subject to pop right out of the dark background with sharper shadow edges. Because we wanted to express the character's rebellious yet energetic vibe, I tried to stay as relaxed as possible in postures, whether squatting or in playful standing poses. This photo set took nearly a month from preparation to shooting and retouching. From location scouting and prop preparation to post-production color grading, every step attempted to find the state that best fits the character's design. Photography is just like this: constantly trying different angles and light-and-shadow to present those beautiful moments frozen in the two-dimensional world. I hope this photo set allows everyone to feel Sunna's unique charm.
