This time I'm cosplaying Tachibana Sherry from Magical Girl's Witch Trial. In the photos, I'm wearing a light blue medium-length wig, with a specially braided circular braid on the left side to increase the character's recognizability. To match the character's energetic vibe, the makeup uses pink-toned blush, paired with light brown contact lenses for the eye makeup, making the gaze look clearer and more translucent. The costume is a black-and-white color-blocked uniform with a white collar, layered with a black long-sleeved outer garment. Tied at the chest are a black bow and a light blue tie, with white stripes beneath the tie. The lower body is a blue plaid pleated skirt with golden piping. The black beret on the head features a golden chain and a black bow on the side. The magnifying glass in my hand is a specially prepared prop, with a black bow and golden button on the handle, positioned right in front of the eyes to add a bit of mystery. When preparing for this cosplay, the hardest part was managing the wig. The light blue wig is prone to frizzing and needed to be smoothed down piece by piece with hair wax, especially the braid on the left side, which had to be natural without looking top-heavy, requiring several sprays of styling spray. The wearing angle of the beret was also adjusted for a long time to ensure the bangs could show while displaying the side golden chain decoration. To make the uniform look crisp, both the shirt and the jacket were ironed in advance to ensure no wrinkles. Tachibana Sherry is a very distinctive character in Magical Girl's Witch Trial; her setting combines the playfulness of a magical girl with a detective's curiosity. The magnifying glass prop is her soul; holding it in hand naturally brings out the posture of leaning in to observe closely. During the shoot, I tried to make my gaze look like I discovered some secret, coordinating with the magnifying glass blocking the eye to give the picture more narrative sense. This was an indoor shoot with relatively soft lighting. To make the blue hair look brighter, the lighting angle was adjusted several times. When taking this photo, I tried placing the magnifying glass over my right eye, tilting my head slightly, and pairing it with pink blush, hoping to express an atmosphere that is both mysterious and cute. The makeup looked quite good under the lighting and didn't seem heavy. The clothing fabric's reflection was also moderate. Dressing in the full gear actually takes quite a bit of time. Headdress, bow tie, tie, skirt—every single piece needs to be adjusted to the right position. Especially the waistline of the plaid skirt, which needed to be smoothed out to get good results. During shooting breaks, I also tried several different poses, like holding the magnifying glass high or placing it in front of my chest. Finally, I chose this close-up of the magnifying glass near the face because it best showcases the details of the makeup and wig, along with that delicate bow decoration. Actually, every time I do cosplay, the most enjoyable part is the preparation process. From selecting fabrics to assembling props, to that very moment of putting on the wig, it feels like the whole person enters another world. This time, Tachibana Sherry's uniform has many small details, like the white bow on the jacket and the pearl decorations on the collar, which I tried my best to restore. During the shoot, soft light filtered through the indoor curtains, forming a very comfortable contrast with my light blue hair. Holding the magnifying glass in front of my face, I felt like I had turned into that little detective searching for clues in the magical world. I hope this photoshoot lets everyone feel the character's charm, and you are welcome to exchange tips on shooting and beret makeup and styling.
