Putting on this white and black techwear style coat, with the bright blue tie as the visual center, the atmospheric feel of the entire cosplay outfit is instantly pushed to the max. Today, we shot on the footbridge against a strong wind, and the sunlight happened to fall on the glass railings, casting a transparent white light that gave the long white hair and the geometric halo on my head an excellent texture.
The main difficulties of this cosplay lay in the tailoring of the coat and the styling of the hair. The drop-shoulder design of the coat, along with the large pockets and black patchwork lines, gives a relaxed, lazy feel when worn, without looking too tight. The halo on top of my head is custom-made from acrylic material, with a very lightweight frame; secured with a headband, there was no worry about it slipping off even when walking around during the footbridge photography session. As for the white hair, since it's a long, straight hairstyle, it not only needed to be smooth and draping, but also had to maintain a natural and slightly messy piecey look for the bangs. I intentionally used hair wax to pinch in a bit of an airy feel for this white wig before heading out, and when the wind blew, the captured snapshots turned out highly natural.
The photographer captured several sets of frames with different postures this time. There were playful single-leg lifts, as well as posing with a peace sign toward the lens. My personal favorite is the full-body shot facing the light on the footbridge, where the entire hem of the coat was gently blown up by the wind, revealing the black inner top and the pleated skirt edge inside. Combined with the black tights and leather shoes, the overall visual effect is clean, sharp, yet rich in layers. The modern metallic lines and glass curtain walls of the footbridge fit perfectly with the white and black color scheme of this gear, giving the overall resulting images a highly refreshing color tone.
Although the wind was strong and the wig frequently blew onto my face to affect my vision during the shoot, the light and shadow effects of the final photos were truly a pleasant surprise. For characters with this kind of urban techwear vibe, the brighter and more natural the light is, the more it highlights the texture of the clothing itself. As a self-releasing outdoor shoot, the entire process was quite enjoyable. The light and angles on the footbridge today were just right, so I was in a particularly good mood when going back to edit the photos. I also hope to convey this refreshing sense of atmosphere to those who see these photos.
