This time, I cosplayed Asuma Toki cosplay from Blue Archive. The core of the overall styling is this classic combination of a blue-and-white uniform paired with a black skirt and black socks in a Long socks outfit. To attend conventions and walk the floor, the costume was tailored with a comfortably loose knit cardigan, preserving the character's lively charm while making it convenient to move around in crowded exhibition halls.
On the day of the shoot, we chose a location next to an outdoor modern building, and photographer @Tianping-jun handled the lighting and shadows impeccably for this Outdoor street photography. The strong afternoon sunlight struck directly upon the stone steps, creating crisp, sharp shadow edges; this high-contrast lighting made the light blue cardigan and white inner top look remarkably crisp and bright. The glass curtain walls in the frame reflected passersby and architectural lines, adding narrative depth to the entire set as if exploring a daily base scenario.
The halo in particular required delicate mounting to stay stable and natural outdoors, ensuring that whether making a peace sign gesture or sitting down to rest, the structure wouldn't tilt or reveal mounting marks. Pairing black over-the-knee socks with glossy platform loafers not only elongated the leg lines in this Cosplay outfit, but also stabilized the overall visual center of gravity.
Walking through outdoor plazas or convention halls in this outfit drew plenty of glances. Many passersby were curious about how the halo was anchored, and fellow fans recognized the costume right away. This attire not only blends seamlessly into the relaxed holiday vibe, but also makes shooting effortless in front of the lens—easily pulling off expansive standing poses as well as casual seated postures on stone ledges.
During cosplay, beyond ensuring refined makeup and wig styling, interacting with the surroundings is equally vital. For instance, in the third seated photo, the texture of the stone and the harsh shadows cast by direct sunlight were leveraged to construct a cozy, relaxed afternoon indolence rather than a stiff static pose.
Lastly, huge thanks to the photographer for swift shooting and retouching. This convention mission was definitely a great success, and I'll likely take this Cosplay outfit to explore more diverse lifestyle settings in the future to experience the charm of uniforms in everyday life.
