[Cartethyia Cosplay] Wuthering Waves Convention Photo Post-Processing: Recreating the Blue-Hued Elf Aesthetic

Capturing these convention photos of Cartethyia at the anime convention demanded far more energy than originally anticipated.

To faithfully embody the character's ethereal elven aura, dialing in the angles of the wig and prosthetic pointed ears alone consumed considerable time. I selected waist-length golden-blonde straight tresses, focusing on crown volume during prep to prevent the hair from lying flat against the scalp before the camera. Positioning the elf ear prosthetics was equally exacting: they had to tilt subtly backward at an angle so that turning into a three-quarter profile revealed an organic, clean silhouette.

The wardrobe construction is remarkably intricate—black crisscross straps paired with metallic silver vambraces produce rich visual layering. The high-low azure gown was crafted from a lustrous, light-catching satin fabric that easily risked blown highlights under the harsh exhibition hall spotlights, so I specifically asked the photographer to dial back the exposure compensation to safeguard the weave grain and subtle shadow gradations. The train was exceptionally long; to showcase its sweeping drape while holding a single-leg stance, I continually recalibrated my balance, anchoring all my weight across the left foot while raising the right leg with a bent knee—a posture that tested my core stability to the limit.

The convention center's overhead arena lighting skewed cool and chaotic, with roaming crowds cluttering the periphery. The first post-production phase involved cleanly cloning out background attendees and visual noise, using artificial depth-of-field blur to let the subject command the frame. When finishing skin textures, I retained the authentic bone structure and natural light-shadow planes without aggressive skin-smoothing, ensuring the complexion stayed luminous beneath cool lighting.

While AI streamlined labor-intensive digital painting in layer blending and VFX generation, practical on-site composition and disciplined physical posing remained the bedrock of the final image.
