Today's shoot centered on this look for Qingxiao from Wuthering Waves. The studio set was staged with a massive luminous moon prop and shimmering aquatic reflective boards, crafting the ethereal ambiance of a submerged, crystal-cool palace. The costume is an altered Traditional Chinese style cosplay miniskirt dominated by white and blue, featuring semi-sheer tulle sleeves that flutter gracefully with movement. The wig was chosen in long ice-blue tresses, crowned by dragon-horn hair ornaments; locking down its dimensional structure required generous amounts of styling gel and setting spray. In terms of props, the semi-translucent glowing sword served as the visual focal point; it carried tangible weight, requiring careful management during takes so the blade's inner glow didn't cast awkward reflections across my face.

For makeup, I emphasized soft reddish blending around the eyes to complement the cool-toned foundation. I opted for White stockings paired with white high heels; while this created an elongated silhouette, maintaining steady balance during poses was a genuine physical challenge. To showcase the cut and tactile quality of the attire, traditional props like a Chinese wooden daybed, a Go board, and calligraphy brushes were arranged on set. Posing incorporated deliberate sword dance elements—for example, single-leg balancing stances demanded a tight core to stay anchored while sustaining serene, composed facial expressions. Seated takes on the daybed featured crossed legs with the sword serving as a support anchor; with the skirt's high-slit design, keeping track of the hemline's drape and muscle definition in the legs was essential.

The entire shoot revolved around calibrating lighting angles: rim backlighting chiseled out the character's silhouette, while side backlighting brought out the lace embroidery and translucent tulle layers. The water reflections were rendered practically using reflective surfaces combined with blue studio keys, instantly establishing an otherworldly mood. Regarding garment details, the bodice incorporates a backless cut with waist cutouts, leading into a high-low hemline edged with delicate lace trim. Fabric choice was vital for this cosplay attire—too soft and the skirt collapses, too stiff and it loses its airy drape. Styling the wig took over an hour of combing and shaping, particularly ensuring the fringe wouldn't obscure my eyes during dynamic takes, while keeping the horn accessories anchored firmly.

The white blossoming tree in the background was crafted from faux floral branches, which combined with the moon lantern behind to build this dreamlike fantasy world. Between takes, I constantly adjusted the angle of my shoes, as white high heels can easily reveal seam flaws on glossy floors, while the photographer constantly hunted for optimal framing. This shoot tested not only the costume and props, but physical endurance and bodily poise. Moving beyond static stances into single-leg holds and extended limb lines required controlled muscle tension without appearing stiff. By balancing contrast ratios to create luminous highlights alongside rich shadow depth, the cool-toned palette resonated seamlessly with the blue-and-white theme, making it one of my most satisfying studio shoots recently.
