For this Cartethyia photoshoot, the entire creative direction revolved around shaping that interplay of fantasy and aloof serenity inherent to the world of Wuthering Waves. The costume is rich in fine detail: the inner deep-purple mini dress features cutout designs with a fitted waist silhouette, while the outer light-blue translucent long cape serves as the visual centerpiece of the whole ensemble. The golden celestial sun-and-moon motifs and the swallowtail cut of the cloak produce wonderful dynamic fluidity during motion and posing. To honor the Elf ears setting, I selected a long blonde wig styled with intricate braids, and deliberately deepened the blue eyeshadow in the makeup to accentuate the unique, otherworldly demeanor of a non-human race.
For location scouting, we specifically sought out classical architecture featuring consecutive European-style archways and stone colonnades, where natural light filtered through the arches to create soft, sculpted chiaroscuro. The first photo captures an arms-outstretched spellcasting stance; while having my face obscured was a slight compromise, it brilliantly showcases the fully unfurled silhouette of the cloak. To grant the cape an effortless windblown feel, an assistant fanned air from off-camera, catching that sideways backward-glance captured in Photo 2—which happens to be my personal favorite. Photos 3 and 4 feature seated poses across the stone steps, aiming for a more tranquil, contemplative mood: hands gently clasped, gaze cast sideways, and the cloak draped across the steps to enhance spatial depth alongside the receding arches in the background.
To accentuate long leg lines, I chose clear heeled sandals that naturally elongated proportions when bending my knees along the stone stairs. The overarching color grade leans toward cool white without heavy saturation, aiming to preserve an impeccably clean, crystalline texture. Capturing this set was physically demanding—the cloak is exceptionally long and prone to being stepped on or tangled—yet seeing the final frames made every bit of effort completely worthwhile. I always adore shooting character sets against architectural outdoor backdrops; the organic clash between natural lighting and authentic stone textures brings frames to life with vivid realism. I hope everyone loves this visual presentation.
