To complement the wig, I specifically trimmed side-swept bangs with textured strands; the dark coffee/reddish-brown locks and red dip-dyed tips echo the piping of the costume seamlessly.

The actual shoot took place at a local anime convention. The first photo was taken in a spacious rest area—with fewer people around and ideal lighting, I used hand gestures to guide the visual focus. The second shot captures the true fan meetup moment: a fellow con-goer asked for a photo together, so a friend quickly snapped a candid shot in an uncrowded hallway. Compared to studio shoots with pre-set lighting and careful polish, these spontaneous candid frames carry an authentic, lively warmth. Walking around the venue all day in this costume wasn't terribly heavy, though the metal shoulder hardware did apply slight pressure. Yet these minor flaws pale in comparison to meeting players who instantly recognized Fugue and greeted me warmly—that direct sense of validation was deeply satisfying.

Securing props and the wig required considerable effort. To prevent bangs from slipping or blocking vision when tilting my head or moving my arms, I used small clips and styling wax. The overall makeup strategy prioritized a lightweight, breathable finish, as convention venues get warm and heavy foundation easily turns cakey when sweating. Thus, foundation was kept minimal, focusing effort instead on contouring and smooth eyeshadow gradients.

During photo selection for these Convention photos, the first image preserved the close-up hand gesture—pointing upward for an iconic stance. For the second meetup photo, to enhance the cute vibe, I slightly boosted color saturation so the emerald-green eyes and pink makeup popped even more. The gold printed patterns on the outfit matched the original setting remarkably well under natural light. To facilitate moving through the crowd, the cuffs were slightly tapered, which actually gave the silhouette a sleeker look.

From makeup prep to final photos, the production cycle for this Fugue Cosplay wasn't short. Wig strands required painstaking combing and hairspray fixing, while the fox ear fur crushed easily during transport and needed styling with a hairdryer before shooting. Despite these time-consuming steps, the final outcome closely captured the character's initial impression.
