[Keqing cosplay] Fusion of Classical Chinese Charm and Lightning Glow

"With sword in hand, I shall cut through the chaotic noise." This set of Keqing cosplay work is finally fully retouched. Combined with the unique light and shadow of this scene, my love for this character when I first saw her was reawakened.

For this shoot, I intentionally chose a classical Chinese style scene that differs entirely from original poster setups. Behind me is a dark wooden Luohan couch with pale yellow brocade cushions. In the background sits a giant wooden carved window screen with intricate geometric lattice patterns. Red velvet drapes hang down on both sides, enveloping the room in a warm, intimate atmosphere. A tall blue-and-white porcelain vase holds large pink and red peonies, decorated with festive red firecracker ornaments that add opulence and a touch of daily life alongside classical charm.

The photographer cleverly utilized the backlight from the lattice window. Sunlight filtered through the geometric grilles, casting dappled, golden glints of light and shadow across the background wall and ourselves. Shooting under these mottled light spots created strong visual depth without needing extra lights, adding a dreamy, ethereal ambiance to the entire setting.

Regarding the costume, the top features a black strapless tube cut, paired with a black neck accessory with intricate hollow-out designs. This design puts shoulder and collarbone lines to the test, so I paid extra attention to posture during the shoot. The off-the-shoulder sleeves connect to a deep blue and semi-transparent black spliced tulle shawl adorned with delicate silver bird decorations. Swirling the skirt during poses makes the sheer fabric flutter gracefully, creating strong dynamic motion. The bottom is a black and blue spliced short skirt; the blue fabric carries a subtle shimmer that keeps the voluminous dress from looking dull. Fine pearls trim the edge of the skirt, effortlessly elevating the outfit's sophistication.

To match the overall color scheme, I specifically added a translucent Purple tights outfit featuring white vine-like totem patterns along the thighs. Under strong, warm lighting, this purple tights outfit presents a exceptionally sophisticated texture that, paired with shiny black strapped high heels, dramatically elongates leg proportions visually. The headwear includes a light purple long-bangs wig with cone-shaped horns decorated with silver rivets and blue ribbons on both sides, accurately restoring the Genshin Impact character's core features while maintaining stability during large movements.

The actual shooting process was quite grueling. Because the light ratio between backlight and metering was large, I had to constantly adjust my face direction and jawline angle to help the photographer capture optimal facial lighting—sometimes even squinting to adapt to strong light reflections. Fortunately, the final images delivered great results, making all the adjustments worthwhile. Different angles offered distinct flavors: sitting candid shots with arm support conveyed a relaxed vibe, while the front standing shot with crossed arms and upright posture exuded powerful aura.

Looking back, Keqing has been beloved by many players and creators ever since her debut due to her crisp, sharp design and unique move sets in Genshin Impact. Whether from her in-game backstory or affectionate nicknames given by fans, it proves she still possesses vibrant vitality. Cosplay is not merely putting on clothes, but reinterpreting and conveying a character's multifaceted nature through attire, makeup, and camera language. Keqing isn't just decisive on the battlefield; she can also blend seamlessly into this soft, tranquil classical light and shadow. I hope these photos allow everyone to appreciate a different dimension of her beauty.
