[Cheshire Cosplay] Azur Lane Poolside Date: Refreshing Photoshoot at Chimelong Water Park

Attending the anime party at Chimelong Water Park on Saturday, the Convention photos for this Azur Lane Cheshire Swimsuit cosplay came back remarkably fast, so I organized them while the excitement was fresh to share this unique aquatic photoshoot experience. With a poolside date theme, maintaining the character's demeanor amid pool water and intense sunlight was the key creative consideration.

Starting with the outfit, the swimwear centers on a navy blue palette paired with a translucent white chiffon cover-up. The inner layer is a strappy bikini top, where the holographic heart patch on the chest creates shifting light refractions under the sun, enriching the garment's visual layering. The white sheer cover-up proved incredibly functional in the pool: it offered a light, flowing texture while presenting an alluring semi-sheer visual translucency when damp. The purple bowtie at the neck and the oversized purple bow on the headpiece echoed each other, which, combined with the purple plush flower atop the head, added three-dimensional depth while faithfully capturing the character's iconic elements. The teal-green highlights in the bangs matched the swimsuit theme perfectly, giving the styling a crisp, refreshing vibe under the bright summer sun.

The wig and sunglasses on the head were also essential components of this styling. Resting the sunglasses atop the head preserved the classic design element without obstructing eye makeup or facial expressions. Because the sunlight was blazing, expression control under high-glare outdoor poolside lighting was especially crucial. The wig had great volume and didn't collapse even when in contact with water, allowing me to move and pose freely. The pink squirt gun in hand served as a delightful summer prop, adding interactivity to poses while acting as a playful visual focal point.

Speaking of Chimelong Water Park, the venue was bustling and vibrant. Despite Guangzhou's summer heat, soaking in the cool pool in character swimwear provided an immersive way to beat the heat rather than feeling stifling. Blue mosaic tiles at the bottom of the pool made the clear water sparkle with shifting ripples. Sunlight filtering through the canopy of leaves cast natural dappled light across the water and my skin. The photographer's candid captures were spot-on: beyond posing with the water gun, they captured water reflections, splashing water, and leaning against the pool edge.

Shooting on location in the water demands solid balance and stable facial expressions. Surface glare can easily wash out facial clarity, requiring continuous angle adjustments relative to the lens, while also managing the floating sheer cover-up to keep its layers neat. Yet precisely because of this authentic aquatic setting, the wet texture of the cover-up and the rippling reflections endowed the entire set with vibrant summer vitality.

Taking a character out to enjoy the water at an event is a wonderfully liberating experience. Blending into Chimelong's ACG party in Cheshire's swimsuit allowed me to fully immerse myself in the passionate energy of summer. The visual tone focused on natural, crisp summer aesthetics without over-complicated compositions or exaggerated filters, relying on natural daylight and authentic interactions. After the shoot, rinsing and drying the costume promptly was an essential closing step for water-based shoots.
