[Remielle cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero Black & White Angel and Devil: Duo Photography Log

This set of Zenless Zone Zero Remielle photos took some time from prep to shooting, mainly due to the intricate details of the costume accessories. Partnering with Muyue this time, I cosplayed the black version of Remielle while she did the white version. Because the character concept revolves around black and white, the materials and tailoring were differentiated: the black version focused on sheer mesh and lace, while the white version was paired with feathered wings and a sapphire brooch.

The venue was set in a Dark Gothic indoor studio, where the deep purple velvet sofa and red roses scattered across the floor added immense texture to the frame. The composition of the first photo tested physical flexibility: sitting in the foreground with my legs extended toward the camera effectively showcased the lines of the black high heels and sheer garter Black stockings. Paired with stiletto heels and black straps, it accentuated the character's cold yet alluring edge. In the background, Muyue leaned on my shoulder, using her white feathered wings to fill the upper portion of the frame. For the second shot, we moved to the carpet, adopting a more relaxed seated pose with a lower camera angle.

The hardest part throughout the shoot was coordination in a Duo cosplay, especially overlapping body language, which required constant repositioning to avoid obscuring each character's focal highlights. Studio lighting was dominated by purplish-red and pink ambient lights that, paired with the dark background, created a vivid contrast between the Black stockings and white wings. Post-processing avoided exaggerated manipulations, focusing instead on fine-tuning the texture of the stockings and skin to keep the contrast authentic while true to the canon design. Both costumes were styled and fitted by ourselves, taking considerable time to smooth out the multi-layered lace ruffles and garter stockings before shooting. Even the choker on the black version and the folds of the sheer sleeves had to be rearranged before every pose. We also experimented with rim lighting to illuminate the edges of the pink and reddish-orange wig fibers, separating the characters from the dark backdrop to make the visuals pop with depth. We encountered minor hiccups along the way, such as ruffled feathers on the white wings and the back sofa being slippery to sit on, but adjusting prop positions solved them smoothly. The final results align well with my expectations for the character design and costume textures, and I hope this captures the dark aesthetic with rich atmosphere.
