[Houraisan Kaguya cosplay] Sinner of Eternity and the Instant Under the Moonlit Night

This shoot features the Sinner of Eternity and the Instant, namely Houraisan Kaguya from Touhou Project. The entire set focuses on the dark night and the serene vibe of a wooden waterside. To match the story atmosphere of Touhou Imperishable Night, a scene was specially built with an artificial full moon, white blossoming branches, and warm-toned ancient style night scene lanterns.

In terms of costume styling, the shiny pink cross-collar top paired with a gorgeous burgundy long skirt adorned with flowing golden maple leaf patterns creates reflections that showcase depth perfectly in a high-contrast dark environment. The hair styling features classic straight black hair with blunt bangs and delicate hair ornaments on the sides, striving to faithfully restore the character's mysterious yet pure demeanor in this Japanese style cosplay.

A lot of thought went into prop preparation: a low bamboo-and-wood table, a ceramic teapot, celadon cups, and the ancient blue-bound scroll associated with Kaguya-hime, along with peaches on the table as background accents. During the shoot, the ratio between cold and warm light from the artificial moon and lanterns was repeatedly adjusted; the moon provided rim lighting and top light to define silhouettes, while the warm glow of the lanterns added ambient lighting to the face and surroundings.

Since the shooting location was a water platform built inside a studio with a black background, reflections on the water's surface lent a cool, ethereal quality to the whole frame. Holding a folding fan, I tried different poses like sitting upright while looking straight into the lens, or resting my chin on my hand while gazing sideways at the cherry blossom branches, hoping to convey that transcendent yet distant character trait.

Since the Touhou series allows plenty of creative freedom for fan interpretations, I didn't strictly copy the original game portraits for expressions. Instead, I added subtle emotional details like gentle, slightly lowered eyes to make Houraisan Kaguya's image feel more full of life. The entire shooting process was immensely enjoyable. Special thanks to Photographer B-ge, whose mastery of light and shadow was spot on; many low-angle corner shots created great visual depth, leaving so many fantastic moments I couldn't bear to leave out when selecting photos.
