[Rem cosplay] Pure white Angel Rem indoor photoshoot behind-the-scenes

This indoor Angel Rem photoshoot in Shanghai in early autumn had a very quiet overall atmosphere. The costume for this styling is a pure white lace dress, featuring a halter design paired with a huge bow on the chest, off-the-shoulder puff sleeves, and multi-layered skirt hems. To fit the angel theme, a large amount of lightweight lace and tulle was chosen for the fabric, giving a lightweight feel when worn. For the makeup part, to match the bright blue short hair, I deliberately chose red contact lenses and applied a large area of pink smudging around the eye area, hoping to present a fragile yet gentle expression.

A lot of thought actually went into assembling and securing the props. The floating white halo on top of the head is supported by a very thin metal hairband tucked into the hair. Because the wig is relatively short, hairpins were needed to repeatedly adjust its position, ensuring it looked naturally suspended in front of the lens. The feather wings on the back were also specially sized—not too big to avoid looking bulky, and not too small to lose the sense of outline. When taking photos, attention must be paid to arm movements for the small wings adorned on both sides, trying to let them spread out naturally on the sides of the shoulders.

The shooting venue was very warmly arranged, featuring vintage floral wallpaper on the walls and white gauze curtains by the window. I sat on a bed covered with white bed sheets, with a teddy bear wearing a beige sweater placed next to me. At the beginning of the shoot, the photographer asked me to try curling myself up, with hands crossed in front of my chest and chin slightly tucked. This posture can showcase the leg lines well while allowing the skirt hem to fall naturally, revealing the White stockings and lace-trimmed sock covers on the legs. In the lens, the white bed sheets, white skirt, and white stockings formed a pure sense of layering, and the textures of different materials appeared particularly delicate under the soft natural light.

We tried several angles, such as sitting cross-legged, holding hands in front of the chest, or looking down at my hands. Since the skirt hem is relatively short, to prevent wardrobe malfunctions, I needed to specially adjust the arc of the skirt hem when sitting down to ensure the frame was safe yet aesthetic. In this non-deliberately posed behind-the-scenes state, the most natural expressions are often captured. Sometimes the wind blowing through the curtains, or the moment of lowering the head to adjust the skirt hem, were all recorded by the lens.

This Angel Rem styling is different from the usual maid outfits, leaning more overall towards dreamy and soft. Since it is white-themed from head to toe, the color contrast between the makeup and the wig appears particularly important. In color grading, I also tended to retain the cool tone of the frame, making the blue and white more prominent. The entire shooting process went very smoothly; although kneeling or curling up for a long time made my legs somewhat numb, seeing that quiet atmosphere in the camera made all these detail adjustments feel worth it. The final image effect was very close to my envisioned ethereal feeling—clean frames without unnecessary stray color interference.
