[Rem cosplay] If true love has a color, it must be blue

The convention photos from this Firefly ACG Expo are finally edited and ready. A lot of thought was put into the material selection for this Rem blue-and-white idol costume: the upper body is a white lace high collar spliced with a blue corset design, and the cross-straps on the back photograph with a very solid texture under the strong convention light. The sleeves are made into off-the-shoulder puff sleeves, matching the blue lace on the wrists, which can well modify the shoulder and neck lines. The lower multi-layered white ruffle short skirt plus the long light-blue sheer train at the back has a lot of weight when walking; however, when moving around in the crowded convention venue, I had to keep lifting the skirt hem with my hand to prevent it from being stepped on by others.

The wig is bright blue blunt-bangs short hair. When trimming, the arc was specially adjusted according to the face shape, and a pink X-shaped hairpin was pinned on the right side, restoring the character's iconic features. The eye makeup used pink-series eyeshadow paired with blue contact lenses, making the eyes look more spirited in front of the lens. The white lace hair accessory on top of the head and the transparent star decorations produce a nice reflective effect under the irradiation of on-site spotlights.

The prop in hand is a bouquet of blue roses wrapped in blue packaging paper, with FLORA STUDIO and an English sentence printed on the card, perfectly echoing the color tone of the whole outfit. The legs are dressed in White stockings with blue lace trims on the sock bands, and the feet step on white platform chunky-heeled Mary Jane shoes. Wearing such platform shoes to walk around the exhibition hall for a whole day actually tests physical strength very much, but for the overall proportional effect of the shooting, I persevered.

The shooting location was chosen inside the exhibition hall, with metal railings and dark glass curtain walls in the background. There are a lot of ceiling lights on site, and the photographer used the on-site light sources to create some backlight and sidelight effects. Because the material of the sheer skirt is relatively translucent, exposure compensation needs special attention during backlight to prevent highlight clipping. For the first full-body photo, the photographer used a wide angle to slightly shoot from below, capturing the extensibility of the entire skirt hem, which also happened to showcase the pairing of White stockings and platform shoes. The second half-body close-up was directly front-lit, blurring out the messy convention crowd in the background and focusing the visual attention on the facial makeup and bouquet.

Convention photos test most the ability to quickly get into state amidst messy lighting and environments, and this overall photo effect achieved expectations. The blue-and-white color matching is visually very clean, and post-processing only requires minor adjustments to the color temperature and shadows to maximize that cool and detached atmosphere.
