This Finished set was shot over two days: one night at an amusement park and one daytime on stone stairs. The vibrant, colorful lights at night paired with the character's blue-dominant palette produced a high keeper rate, subtly echoing her quiet nature amidst the hustle and bustle. The daytime light was softer, and the lines of the staircase worked wonders, capturing a slice-of-life realism. Walking up and down stairs in these chunky platform heels was exhausting, and carrying a heavy gig bag up and down made it quite a physical workout. To showcase the character's cool, aloof, and somewhat languid personality, I polished subtle gestures—like casually strumming the guitar, or holding an unlit cigarette in hand.
Coordinating the outfit and props was key: the gray cardigan and pleated skirt are inherently minimalist, and the addition of Black stockings noticeably elongates the legs. The texture of the Black stockings combined with the amusement park light globes creates a retro vibe. During the shoot, we explored turn-around angles and expressions; using light and shadow to contour a cool, distant gaze aimed to emphasize her idiosyncratic and decisive character. Blending musical elements into everyday scenery lent rich narrative depth. Overall, this Yamada Ryo cosplay styling has high fidelity, especially conveying that sense of being seemingly unapproachable while remaining dead serious about music. The posture of slinging the gig bag over the shoulder was designed to express an effortless attitude, looking quite dashing.
Though somewhat tiring, the shooting process was a lot of fun. Atmosphere truly depends on the setting: the dazzling nightlife neon highlighted her aloof solitude, while the spacious daytime stairs revealed her serene side. Photoshoots with this kind of contrast always yield wonderful results. Ultimately, these photos brought out the character's unique charm as naturally as possible through outfit details, props, and environmental synergy. Shooting on the steps during the day required carrying a heavy gig bag while maintaining a sharp gaze, placing high demands on stamina and facial expression management. The night lighting at the amusement park was complex, but mastering the color temperature accentuated that cool and easygoing vibe.
Overall, this set achieved the intended emotional expression—a creative endeavor perfectly fitting the band theme of Bocchi the Rock!. We actually shot for a long time at night waiting for the park lights to align across the profile, searching for ideal cool light sources. The carousel bokeh at night was gorgeous; standing in front of the iron fence holding the gig bag instantly brought out that cool, solitary aura. For the daytime staircase shots, the platform shoes and Black stockings on my legs were the focus, making leg lines stand out dramatically, which, paired with a seated pose cradling the guitar, looked both languid and commanding. It was actually quite cold that day—walking outdoors in a short skirt and Black stockings was freezing—but seeing that cool, edgy emotion in the Finished set made everything completely worthwhile.
I brought two instruments back then—one slung inside the bag, and one out for posing. The bag was genuinely heavy; to recreate that everyday feeling of running around carrying instruments, it was a major stamina test. The gray sweater, blue skirt, and blue wig produced fantastic color contrast under the night neon lights, especially in eye close-ups which effectively conveyed that aloof detachment. This photo set nicely documents the stubborn yet endearing charm this character occasionally reveals in everyday life.
