When shooting this Castorice look in the studio, the overall visual tone was established very early on: we wanted that cool-toned, dreamy ambiance. In terms of set design, aside from basic Roman pillars, the key focus was on the floral arrangements—especially the bouquet on the right with its strong red-and-white contrast, which acted as a wonderful visual anchor in the all-blue and purple space, breaking up the color monotony.
For costume details, this dress uses multiple layers of tulle, with purple lining underneath and semi-transparent white tulle on the outer layer, spliced with dark sleeves and cutout strappy details. This fabric is extremely demanding on lighting: harsh light makes tulle look cheap. Therefore, we used plenty of softboxes and reflectors on set, allowing light to filter through the tulle's gaps to create a richly textured, translucent feel. The headpiece has a strong structural silhouette featuring thorn-like branches and white faux flowers; to prevent it from feeling top-heavy when worn, the stylist carefully layered and secured it onto the wig.
The closed-eye expression was indeed a deliberate choice for this Anime cosplay shoot. Rather than a forced smile or complex expressions, this quiet, slightly detached demeanor—combined with the surrounding misty haze and fragmented light flare effects—better conveys a serene yet powerful atmosphere. During shooting, because the skirt was massive and space was somewhat constrained, moving around required holding up the hem carefully to avoid stepping on the delicate tulle.
As for makeup, besides cool-toned eyeshadow, I added a subtle touch of shimmer on the eyelids. While not overly obvious under the lens, it enhanced the depth of the gaze. The purple wig was custom-made with lightweight strands to better support the weight of the headpiece. In post-processing, beyond standard skin smoothing, the main focus was overlaying halos and stardust effects; though simple in concept, fine-tuning their placement and opacity took considerable time to ensure a dreamy look without appearing intrusive in this Cool-toned photography.
Looking at others' photos often seems effortless, but wearing the full ensemble yourself reveals how much effort goes into not just posture, but constantly managing silhouette distortions caused by the heavy dress. All in all, this set is not only a character recreation, but also a practical exercise by our entire production team in mastering lighting and atmosphere for this Cosplay sharing. Seeing the final result brings immense satisfaction—it is the kind of cool, poised character aesthetic that grows on you the more you look at it.
