Portraying Shionji Yuko in this shoot, the most critical element to capture was a natural, effortless sense of relaxation in posing. In original canon, she spends nearly all her time cloistered in a room crammed with electronic equipment; hence, there are no grandiose actions—only curling up, spacing out, hugging stuffed animals, or sitting alone at the desk fixated on monitors.

The studio was Banrixian, a space that inherently oozes retro-cyberpunk flavor. After coordinating with photographer Toasted Dog, we fine-tuned the set, preserving an array of vintage CRT monitors and tangled nests of cabling. Cyan and electric-blue cold lights served as the core visual palette of this shoot; cast across the White tights cosplay, these cool hues produced an icy, crisp texture that flawlessly accentuated the character's elusive detachment and ethereal fragility.

Regarding props, beyond laptop screens running cascading lines of code, the teddy bear and soda can were our most expressive assets. Hugging the bear with slight tension immediately conveyed the insecure, introverted vulnerability of a recluse; perched at the desk edge sipping soda, that drowsy, unfocused trance photographed gorgeously. Because white tights can easily appear dull and grey under cold lighting, the light angles were adjusted multiple times to preserve translucent skin and fabric clarity. Remaining perched on desk edges and chair arms in a relaxed yet posture-conscious manner actually demanded substantial lower-back core engagement.

Another evocative detail on set was the diffuse bluish bloom radiating from the vintage television screens. Post-processing intentionally preserved the specular glow blooming off screen code, harmonizing with floor-standing server racks and light slanting through window blinds. This industrial space perfectly encapsulated Shionji Yuko's shut-in world, totally absorbed in her digital sanctuary.

Throughout the set, we explored various interactive compositions: the first frame, hugging my knees at the edge of the table, not only highlighted leg contours but also mirrored her habit of nesting in cozy corners. Resting my feet casually atop the desk or chair armrests was aimed at portraying that uninhibited, willful comfort within her familiar domain.

Overall, the cool-toned ambiance aligned seamlessly with the spirit of the original work, enriched by the tangible weight of retro electronics. Rather than rigid posing, casually lounging allowed the frames to naturally channel a poignant loneliness veiled beneath chilly aesthetics. This visual record of Alice's everyday recluse life, from wardrobe coordination to environmental staging, provided a deeply satisfying tribute to the narrative.
