This shoot's location was chosen at this beach tinged with a dark red hue. Honestly, the light that day was much dimmer than expected, but it unexpectedly fit Rei Ayanami's detached and quiet temperament. For the costume, I specially adjusted the ruffles at the collar and the drape of the skirt. Since sailor uniforms easily deform when wet, the material selected was a quick-drying and supportive fabric, so that when bending over to touch the water surface, the skirt pleats could still maintain a natural silhouette. The wig is short, straight hair in a pale blue-gray tone. I trimmed the length of the bangs to ensure it wouldn't block my vision, while still recreating that cold, detached feel from the original work where it slightly veils the eyes and brows. During the shoot, to capture the moment of \"touching the water waves,\" I tried it repeatedly over a dozen times. This was because the fingertips had to just graze the water surface without kicking up wide ripples, while also controlling my body's center of gravity to avoid shaking—after all, standing on the mud and sand of the shallows makes it very easy to slip. During color grading in post-processing, I retained large areas of the reddish-brown water color and only darkened the surrounding environment, locking the focus of the frame onto my movements and the white collar. In this way, even without a complex background, the color contrast transmits the character's sense of loneliness from being isolated from the world. No many props were brought this time; we relied solely on camera language and the atmosphere of the scene itself to tell the story. I hope this minimalist visual presentation can make friends who have seen this work associate it with those classic seaside scenes.
