[Cecilia cosplay] Honkai Impact 3rd 8th Anniversary: Recreating the Beloved Mother-in-Law with Abyss Flower

From the moment the character was decided for this Honkai Impact 3rd 8th-anniversary shoot, preparations were underway—especially experimenting multiple times with the makeup for the white hair and blue eyes. The white wig required meticulous styling; I chose extra-long eyelashes paired with light, slender eyebrows to create a glass-like, translucent texture for the eyes. The gold piping on the black base fabric of the outfit, along with the gear-like metal accessory at the neckline, felt slightly tight when worn, but had to be fastened securely for accurate recreation. The collar ring ornament looked simple, yet adjusting its position took quite some time. The weapon prop held in my hand was handcrafted by myself: cutting the shape out of white stiff cardboard, carefully drawing the blue patterns on it, and meticulously trimming and gluing it together. Supported by a black rod in the center, a large bouquet of fresh lilies was finally inserted. This bouquet added an authentic, tactile ambiance to the entire prop, though the flowers wilted slightly after the shoot, making it a time-sensitive limited prop. The first photo was taken indoors where lighting is more controllable; paired with facial fill light, it captured skin translucency, ideal for showcasing delicate facial details. The latter two photos moved outdoors in front of a stone wall. Under open natural light, the white hair caught the light even better and enhanced fair skin tones, while outdoor architectural textures added depth to the composition. To express the character's gentle yet resilient temperament, expression control was a major challenge. For a character requiring no exaggerated gestures, the focus lies in the gaze—not too fierce, but carrying a touch of cool serenity and tenderness for the right mood. Although the outdoor wind blowing through the hair increased difficulty and required frequent angle adjustments, it also captured natural, dynamic movement. Because this outfit features an off-the-shoulder and low-cut cut, it places high demands on posture: straightening the spine flatters the neckline while being mindful of preventing wardrobe malfunctions. From the tailored edges of the garment to the brushstrokes on the prop and the wig styling, every aspect was refined step by step. While shooting was tiring—holding the floral prop for long stretches made my arms sore, and cardboard is fragile—seeing the final photos made every effort worthwhile.
